Touch 57501 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 You know you are getting old if you can remember what mimeograph paper smelled like when the teacher had just mimeo-d a fresh pop quiz for the class. You know you are really getting old if you can remember when screw-in cartridge fountain pens started to replace dipping the tip of a pen in an inkwell to slurp up the ink; those cartridge pens just seemed so cool by comparison! Yes, Bobby Dylan, some of us did "hang around the inkwell" -- LOL

LIke this: By the way, this was the very first "record album" I ever owned. And yes, up to about grade 5, the smell of mimeo-graphed paper.

roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 You know your old when you run through the channels before turning into bed, "Munich" is on (about the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre), and you can remember watching the real events sadly unfolding on tv. On a more lighter note, before she was a real big star, you can remember watching the Sonny and Cher Show on tv. RG
Reuben Sandwich 13841 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 On a more lighter note, before she was a real big star, you can remember watching the Sonny and Cher Show on tv. RG And one of the cast/writers was Ted Zielgler, who just previous to Sonny and Cher was playing Johnny Jellybean on CFCF in Montreal. Just before Magic Tom if you were in Mtl. in that era. (Of course popular music was mostly on 45s then with a big hole in the middle too.)

stevecurious 42059 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 I remember when this passed as a new T.V. When your 7 year old cousin says "Did you see this new cool show" I look and see him watching something that resembled a "cool new show" from when I was a kid. Hard to believe it is almost 30 years since this guy showed up on that small T.V. above.
