bcguy42 38594 Report post Posted July 18, 2011 When I was young, because I was bright, intelligent, and quick witted (their words, not mine) I was always expected to do well on projects. First in high school, then in university, and then in the corporate world. But I had a flaw. If I could see that the project was not going to turn out as expected or as I hoped, I would lose interest in it and hope it would go away or take my lumps for doing a half-assed job of it. At some point, I took it upon myself as a personal project to see every single female person in the world nude. And I was making great progress at this. Until one day it dawned on me that they were making women faster than I could seduce them. So what to do. Well, damn it, I decided to stick with it and do just the best damn job I could. And that's how I became a better worker and a better person. And to the CERB folk that have contributed to my project, you have my everlasting gratitude. Oh, and volunteers are cheerfully accepted! Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted July 18, 2011 Great to hear! Many people are afraid of failure when something goes wrong or isn't perfect and lose sight of the goal. It is nice to know that you have persevered which is a great quality to have.

Nathalie L 112512 Report post Posted July 18, 2011 Sometimes I find myself losing interest in projects for similar reasons. I like setting myself moderately difficult, but attainable goals. If I challenge myself too much and get exhausted and/or fail I take it really personally. No one is as hard on me as I am on myself! That's why I surround myself with people who love me for who I am, and not my unattained potential ;) Interestingly enough, I attempted to fail at something a few months ago. I failed at failing.
