rascal in ns 139 Report post Posted April 24 I recently texted a service provider, and she quoted her rate, and we agreed on the details, but when the appointment was made, she then mentioned she wanted to be paid with an Apple gift card in lieu of cash, citing risks of robbery or rape. I have never encountered this before and when I hesitated, she said it was a safe and legitimate method of payment and .I could do an e-transfer if I didn't want to do the gift card payment. Any suggestions? Is a gift card ok? On the surface it seems ok, while the e-transfer worries me, if she ghosts me. Any warning bells or anything I should be aware of? Just caught me off guard and I postponed the appointment, pending some feedback or assurances.
NotchJohnson 214123 Report post Posted April 24 From my experience gift cards are a no no, she will want you to give her the numbers behind the cards and then never get back to you with address of location. The only time I would do a a e-transfer would be with a reputable lady that has references. This would be to book the appointment and to confirm that you will show up. Many ladies get scammed as much as we do so it's a "do your research" thing. Just saying.
peacectryguy 12547 Report post Posted May 12 The Apple gift card is one of the biggest scams floating around the internet these days. Google play is another along that line. Anyone that wants this as some sort of a payment is likely in a seedy room somewhere out of country scamming as many people as possible. There are several articles out there that confirm this scam. As @NotchJohnson says, the e-transfer is the only deposit that is truly reputable but also needs to be only given to someone that is 100% legit. She either has a strong online presence, several positive reviews/recos or you have seen her and trust her. Sometimes, a few of my regular ladies have had to implement a deposit policy just because too many guys no-show, even her regular clients. I have never had an issue with that and with those ladies I trust, will even send my entire donation just so I don't have to carry an envelope full of cash.
peacectryguy 12547 Report post Posted May 12 Also, as for the e-transfer, it obviously is not for everybody as some guys are nervous about it. I get that but for me, it is by far the safest and easiest transaction. But then gain, I'm single and don't have to answer to anybody but myself.
