Anyone else frustrated with the lack of variety and new faces?

Hey everyone, 

 

Don't get me wrong, I love our regular and we'll know SPs. 

 

I miss the days when there were new and young SPs trying out the market locally. I'm not talking about the anyone outside legal age. But the legit and verifiable 18 through 21 year olds who would start into the industry. 

 

I'm frustrated with the influx of Asian pretenders, I do love Asian women, but I would like to have a selection of other flavours over someone pretending to be someone else.

 

I first started partaking in 2008, and have dabbled since. There have been many ups and downs. Anyone else in my boat?

What's equally as frustrating is the lack of cooperation in replying to the topic..  ie names and no one shares experiences publicly on forum or private..

I fully agree, It's gotten very bad. It seems like there are 10 scammers for every legit provider nowadays. The economic situation isn't helping and Halifax is worse off than other places in the country. The lack of MPs and agencies in Halifax makes it much harder for newer providers to get involved, and when hotels are expensive as they are that's another barrier to entry.

I totally agree. Halifax is tough spot for taking part in the hobby no question. Most smaller cities have a much better scene. A lot of factors come into play; being not economically well off as other places, the “Bible Belt” as being a province with no strippers, MP’s, or agencies, the general public is therefore less accepting than other parts of the country, post covid world, this generation of younger girls may be less willing to get into this line of work than previous ones. Probably a lot more reasons as well. 
 

But yes this environment makes it hard for new younger girls to break into the scene. They don’t have the safety of an agency to take calls, vet clients and set up appointments and a safe place to conduct business. If a girl wants to break into the biz everything is on her to organize and it can be a daunting task.

I have dabbled in the local scene on and off for roughly the same time as the OP and I fully agree things are way worse these days than when I first started.

Oh I recall the strip clubs. The lack of strip clubs may be more a sign of the times, but lack of MP’s and agencies is abysmal.

I know the city made it impossible to put a strip club anywhere. Why do you think we don't have any MPs or agencies? Similar reasons? Tighter law enforcement? I'd be curious as someone newer to this.

I don’t know for sure, but I’d say it’s probably the licensing and red tape involved in setting up an agency/MP. I don’t think it’s LE, they have more important issues to deal with. I used to live near Victoria, BC and there were at least 4 local agencies and probably close to 10 MP’s all serving a population smaller than Halifax.

I was just in St John's for a work trip, and they have a great massage agency with multiple locations.  We need something like that here.

Interestingly enough, if you remember back in the 90’s, there were pages upon pages of escort agency ads in the yellow pages, and a multitude of strip clubs in the vicinity. A lot of the agencies had been operating since the 70’s and 80’s, so I’m guessing whoever owned them decided to close up shop and retire eventually. I know there were some busts around 2007 / 2008 involving GC and PA. However, I’m curious why no new agencies have sprung up to take their place. Is it a zoning law specific to N.S.? I’m sure there’s a reason, since places like Montreal and Toronto have a plethora of agencies and they are like a Mecca. Anyone know for sure?

I know there are definitely zoning laws for strip clubs in NS. Essentially Ralph's was grandfathered in but currently strip clubs can only be run out of locations with a specific zone and there are literally no zones in NS with that designation. I'm sure for some places like MPs there may be unofficial ways around the zoning but maybe not.

You guys have it correct for why we don't have MPs and agencies. Our laws in NS forbid them. They would have to have a home base in another province and "tour" the companions in. But don't think for one second that agencies are safer. They are some that are safe, but others are just glorified pimps and traffickers. 

Lack of new girls to the scene would heavily be due with onlyfans and online content. Why would new to the scene be willing to risk their lives when it's safer to do it online. Yes, its's work but most the ones I know are making a solid income. 
Other barriers are costs to run this business. It's not cheap, between hotels up to 350-500/night now for summer months, leolist is $20/bump plus $10/ad, monthly ad places like republic and tryst are up to 100-300/month, time for websites & social media ect Most are walking into a start of incall 500-1000 in the hole just the recover costs. Which is why you see the push for pre-book and deposits. We can't schedule days on maybe's and empty promises. 

The post covid of this business has changed drastically and imo not for the better.

I took part in this hobby since 2010. It has changed drastically . There used to be times when you’d log on to back page and have 5 different escorts to choose from. I’d often see multiple providers in a week. Kid in a candy store type of thing. 
 

and now? You’re lucky to find one legit one in a sea of scams. 
 

I just wait for one to tour through here that I know, or the odd time I see one posting who I know is legit . It’s gone from 3x a week to once every few months. Eventually just got turned off from it all.

I recommend finding escorts on Twitter. Myself and other girls I know are getting most of our clients from there now because ad sites aren't what they used to be. 

 

If you're having trouble figuring out whether a provider is real, I recommend checking out their social media accounts and personal websites. While becoming more rare due to the rising costs of living, some girls (myself included) tour to different areas of the country. I will be in Halifax this August.

Twitter is great for sure but not everyone has it and the majority I've found aren't in NS. I love verifying providers on there though and it's great to see extra pics too. Some like yourself tour here which is amazing but many seem to focus more only on cities like Montréal and places west of there. Much like musicians touring Canada sometimes it feels like the east coast doesn't exist. 

I know FMTY and things like that are options but also significantly increases the expense and certainly is not for everyone, I'd argue probably not for the majority of people booking with companions.

Obviously as mentioned here we do have locals who are great and thankfully there are people who seem to be touring as well as some agencies like YFL who come here with some regularity but other than that there aren't many new faces popping up who are local.

I mean it still is largely and Elon has changed it for the worse but I can definitely confirm what Blaire is talking about is true. Lots of gorgeous providers on there with extra content you might not see in their ads or website. Blaire has some lovely non professional photos which I really like to see because sometimes the professional ones are a bit overdone (not saying yours are overdone Blaire but definitely some other providers I've seen) and it's nice to get a better idea who's going to open the door when you arrive.

Twitter, and Tryst as well honestly...I see 3 different ladies coming here in July that have never been before...there's been plenty over the last year even, that only advertise "here" as an afterthought, if at all.

 

Threads get started asking questions about a specific provider on this website, followed by guessing & conjecture, meanwhile the answer is pinned to that SP's profile on Twitter.

 

These are the tools, so you should use 'em...surfing LL for "hidden gems" and complaining about being scammed is akin to digging a hole with a blunt rock, instead of a shovel...just my two-cents...😋🤪

Unfortunately most providers don't have any online presence beyond their leolist ad, and most who do still advertise on leolist. Don't get me wrong it's always nice to be able to verify and leolist is full of scams but there are also many legit girls on there who you won't find anywhere else (very few for the reverse). There is a reason there are so many scams on leolist, it's because that's what the vast majority of people are using.

Tryst is mostly locals that advertise elsewhere and high-end touring providers. If you pay attention an awful lot of those touring providers end up cancelling their trip, I imagine due to a lack of interest. So even if you are able to afford it there's a decent chance they won't end up coming here.

Twitter is great for verifying/research but again, mostly high-end providers. In terms of finding providers try searching "Halifax escorts" and you get a bunch of WW2 posts. You need a username (from another platform) for one provider to start and then from there you can see anyone they happen to network with. That's obviously not going to be a complete list, and how many will even be in your area? If you're into the FMTY thing it's a good option I suppose but otherwise it's a lot of effort to find providers who are advertising elsewhere anyways.
