foofer 217 Report post Posted June 15 https://www.brandonsun.com/local/2024/06/12/21-charged-in-sexual-exploitation-bust It looks like they did a sting in Brandon using an online ad, and arrested anyone who showed up. Wasn't even related to suspected trafficking. Just a proactive strike/entrapment on potential johns. “We involved Winnipeg Police Service because they had been doing projects such as these for many years and were very experienced in these types of operations” Think about that when you're about to TOFTT or visiting one of those high profile "groups" with blatant ads with menus and pricing for what goes on at a well known location. Is it worth losing your car?
livenudecats 4072 Report post Posted June 19 Many of those arrested are guys who still cruise for SW's (as outdated as that seems) and that's why they get their vehicle seized. If you visit a lady in an incall, they can't seize your vehicle. Mostly, these stings operate by placing ads for independent providers, then relying on guys showing up and openly expressing that they are there to purchase sexual services. Either by text or in direct conversation with an undercover officer posing as an SP. That's why when ever communicating with an unknown SP you never ask about specific services. You simply ask what services they offer? That is a general enough question that won't get you in trouble. For all they know you could be asking if they'll paint your house. If they press you such as "What ae you looking for?" or "What would you like?" you never answer. If they refuse to discuss services (they often say "We can discuss that when when meet.") you move on. If they do reply that they offer X, Y or Z then they have "opened the door" and your are free to discuss. A cop can't "open the door" or it is entrapment. As for visiting the groups or MP's your are going to be fine. Prostitution is legal so the cops can't do anything about them selling sex. Even the City has removed any licensing requirements for Escorts and MP's. And as for you "Communicating for the purpose ..." the cops would require the cooperation of or a complaint from the provider and that's not going to happen. 1
rubintugger 3323 Report post Posted June 19 There as a local woman prosecuted for basically running a brothel. Granted, she had minors in the house and I believe there were drugs also, but still, "living on the avails" is a crime that LE can arrest someone running a MP that includes sexual services. They can also arrest found ins, because while it is not against the la to sell sex, it is against the law to buy it. So, oddly, a brick and mortar MP might be more dangerous than a SP entertaining in their private residence. I've noticed a lot of weird inquiries on other boards about "what is this place" or "where is this place" and even "is this a place" that stink of LE trying to line up a sting. They seem concerned about trafficking, especially indigenous women. But they could also be targeting immigrant women here on VISA's who might be being trafficked. While there are some reputable groups, there are others that are very sketchy, and that might bring down the net on all of them. This is not a safe hobby, there are a multitude of risks. This latest one just adds to that. Stay safe out there.

Yes "Living off he Avails is" but that takes a complaint form someone who was working for you such as what happened to Emma. Otherwise it is very hard to prove in court. Just being present in the establishment is not enough to be arrested for. That's a fact! The cops are not going to randomly go into or "raid" an MP. Plain and simple. They have no justification to. Just like they can't jsut show up at your doorstep and walk in without a warrant. They can't enter without a warrant based on a suspicion and no Judge is going to issue a warrant without concrete evidence of an illegal activity ongoing. Selling sex is not illegal. There are no licensing issues any more. And to charge anyone in the place for buying sex they would need the testimony of the lady who got paid and that ain't gonna happen. Selling sex is not illegal. If there was "concrete evidence", they wouldn't need a warrant. How do you think all the cigarette and drug busts happen during a traffic stop? Or cops entering a house because they supposedly 'heard' screaming. Selling might not be illegal, but I believe advertising and communicating is. That's why this site changed it's name (remember cerb?) and is flying under a Swiss domain and the other site is under the Cocos Islands. When the whole purpose of an advertised business is to sell something that's illegal to buy, there's enough suspicion for a warrant. Even if they can't make charges stick, do you want to go through the investigation and questioning? 1 hour ago, livenudecats said: The cops are not going to randomly go into or "raid" an MP. The lady can throw you under the bus for a bad tip with no repercussions to herself. While it's her word against yours, being caught in a place called Handjob Haven kinda makes her story more believable. As the customer in these transactions, we are at a serious disadvantage. livenudecats 4072 Report post Posted June 19 Enough with the what if's and playing cop/lawyer. You guys know nothing so stop trying to scare the other members.

No one is trying to scare other members, or play cop or lawyer. This is a discussion about what situations can be problematic, and what ones are safe(r). I don't think anyone is going to quote this thread in a legal defence if they get pinched for doing something dumb and getting caught.
