The old "DM for details" so the site doesn't kick them off. Of course, those are pretty much all in the U.S. and Europe and probably a scam. Most of the dating sites are nothing but scams now anyway. So many obvious ones but some a little more clever. I go on there and just play with it for a distraction and a laugh. Had one message me last week telling me she did porn content and invited me to do a daddy/ daughter fantasy shoot. Told me she lived alone in an apartment building and gave me the address. I laughed my ass off because the building is literally only about 3 blocks away. Newer building but in a sketchy neighborhood and I knew she was fake anyway. I play along for fun anyway and then. of course came the hook. "You will need to contact my international management team and get verified and approved. Only a $250 one time fee that after we meet gets completely refunded and you will be approved from then on and come fuck me anytime you want." I laughed so hard, my coffee spit all over the keyboard. Haha that's pretty good! I haven't seen anything like that but I love when I text and the response I get back is "where are you?" You'd think they'd know where their ad is posted. One the other day I pushed for her location instead and she said "Brunswick". I asked "New Brunswick?" and she said yes. I said "Oh I found your post in the Halifax section of LL" and she said "yeah, Brunswick Halifax." Maybe she's really on Brunswick st but the responses just weren't making it easy. Probably speaking to someone where English isn't their first language. Other times I've volunteered that I'm in NS and you can tell they just Googled something quickly and come back with something either too generic or overly specific. "I'm in Cape Breton. I'll come to you now." Uhh yeah because that's a quick 5 minute drive to Halifax area lol.

Just saw one on the Moncton LL section that when you open her ad it says"visitin Regina for short stay". Guess the scammers forgot to check the copy and paste. Charlotte Maeve 30 Report post Posted July 13 I don’t know what to tell you @peacectryguy and @RobertDion, but I presented the best option out there currently and provided tips. If you want to continue to use LL and complain that’s on you. A comparison of the number of scammers between Tryst and LL can’t even be drawn because it’s so low. Have either of you ever actually been on Tryst? There’s no sign up required to browse and as far as I know never has been. As for the social media content cesspool, I agree to an extent. Twitter can certainly be exhausting and toxic, but it also just sounds like you aren’t being drawn to or following the right providers who don’t engage in that toxicity and drama, and who are open about and discuss MANY topics, including sexuality, cause we exist and tend to (tho not always) travel in the same circles. It’s all about how you go about your searches and while not ideal and requiring some effort on your part, it’s what we’re working with under the current laws 🤷🏼♀️
DaveM2 162 Report post Posted July 13 There's 24 profiles on the Halifax Tryst page, 10 are local providers who would be regularly available. I'll assume all of them are legit because I haven't heard otherwise. There's 2 local scammers who have been advertising regularly on that platform within the last few months, maybe there's 1 or 2 additional legit local providers who don't have an active profile right now? That's ~1/6 scams which is pretty high. LL is higher but a lot of the scams are really lazy and have obvious red flags. With Tryst the only way you could possibly identify scams is from looking on the review boards. If it's necessary to do that level of research anyways why not use the most widely used platform? I've seen dozens of girls in Halifax and only 1 of them had a Tryst profile, in contrast almost everyone on Tryst is regularly on LL. In theory the appeal of Tryst is that it filters out the scams but if it's not achieving that then what's the point? Especially if it's filtering out tons of legit girls who don't want to jump through all the hoops of signing up. Personally I'd rather sort out LL scams written by somebody with a 70 IQ than Tryst scams from a provider who built up a good reputation for several years then decided to start ripping people off with no warning. Maybe this is less common elsewhere but Halifax seems to have a lot of this shit going on lately so I think it's good to lay this out since I know there's a lot of new guys on here.

Just spying on this thread and figured I would throw my 2 cents in.........Could be worse, I live in Thunder Bay and I checked out that site. There was 2 females, 1 is a travelling girl and the other is a female I haven't seen anywhere else so I have 0 clue if she legit or not
Charlotte Maeve 30 Report post Posted July 14 (edited) @DaveM2 that’s all very fair. I believe the inactive profile simply means they haven’t logged in within a certain timeframe and while I wouldn’t write them off as potential scammers for that reason alone, you do bring up a good point about doing your research and due diligence when it comes to who you book. I suppose it’s reassuring in a sense when you know and expect there’ll be scammers cause you’ll be more on guard and being able to quickly cut someone from the roster of providers is much more preferable. I only wish more clients took a careful approach like you. Unfortunately, so many continue to think with their head below rather than up top though. Some of the ads practically have ‘red flag’ written right into their title or bios and yet men are still falling for them. In any case, though, there’s no perfect site and never will be as with any industry, scammers exist and will continue to. All one can do is be a conscious consumer like they are or should be in any other industry because like anything else in life, nothing’s truly foolproof or guaranteed. The risk is always there but it can 100% be managed. Edited July 14 by Charlotte Maeve
