Well gents... I tried to TOFTT. After two days of texting, she even sent a FP, it came to naught.

Arranged a time, 230pm to be exact. 2pm texted and asked for the address, she had already told me the street previously, no response.

I knew the general area so I started driving in that direction hoping to get the address en route. Radio silence. Arrived on the street and decided to just wait, it's 225pm. Receive a message "Hey..." That's all.

Spidey sense starts tingling as I see a vehicle park on this not too long street, and a couple big burly types get out and literally run into an apartment building.

230pm a woman who vaguely looks like the lady I'm hoping to meet walks around the corner and goes into the same building. Still no contact from my date.

At this point I'm more pissed off about the ghosting than what could have potentially unfolded as a mugging. 245pm texted that I'm now out of time and drove away.

Thanks for reading my short story 😆

Honestly I think there would be less effort in establishing a legitimate business than the scams that some of them come up with. Thanks for the info.

I mean, this is the oldest profession in the history of humanity. Also the simplest. An exchange of currency for services.

We still can't get it right 50% of the time, and that's being generous.

I just can't wrap my head around why something so simple becomes so hard, no pun intended.

The one sided legality and normalization of sending money in advance has created a feeding frenzy for scammers. It's very low risk to run deposit scams which is why people doing these IRL ones always surprise me. Only a matter of time before they fuck with the wrong person. I guess these people are complete morons though I mean in this case they had it all set up but thankfully couldn't even bother to show up on time.
