Tonight I got to wondering if an observant Muslim could DATY during the daytime during Ramadan. Well, it appears he cannot. Nor can he masturbate - unless! - he does not do it to ejaculation. Priming the pump is allowed but no happy endings. There are a whole host of other things that cannot be done. Biting your nails, swallowing coins, swallowing bits of skin are off limits, too. If you go into a coma that lasts from sunrise to sunset you are considered not to have fasted and have to make that day up. Women who are menstruating are considered to have broken their fast and must make those days up.
