JuliasUndies 7288 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) So, I picked up a new book called The Book Of Awesome by Neil Pasricha. The book gives thousands of little things to be happy about and take note of the sunny sides of life. I thought maybe we could start a thread about it, only awesomeness applies here Little things that make me happy are.. 1)Waking up to find I still have diet pepsi in the fridge 2)Finding money in the pockets of clothes 3)Perfectly popped microwave popcorn 4)When the boss goes out of town 5)Waiters and waitresses that refill my drink without asking ... can you think of the little things that make you happy? Lexy Grace 103697 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 Little things that make me happy: 1. Going to LaSenza and the sales ladies know what I like and start picking things out for me to try, it's fun and like playing dress-up! 2. Looking out the window when the sun is coming up 3. Winter nights with lots of snow. Snowball fight!! 4. Going to the Spa for a Mani and Pedi and as soon as I walk in I'm greeted with a warm hello and exactly what I'm there for. 5. A nice Bubble Gum flavored sucker 6. Real amusement park/fair type Cotton Candy 7. A very clean home 8. Seeing children laughing and playing outside, so innocently and having fun 9. Finding loonies and quarters for laundry and not needing to go get change 10. Yoga pants, tank top and a ponytail
SamanthaEvans 166766 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 Giving a new toy to my dog and watching her play with it like a little child, with such enthusiasm and joy. Listening to one of the cats purring just because he's happy. The skunk who patrols our garden every night. He's really big, with abundant, thick fur and a magnificent tail. A bumblebee landed on my hand when I was in the park yesterday. It just walked around for a little bit, calmly unafraid, then flew away again. Being brought fresh coffee in bed in the morning. My 87 year-old friend who has lived in her house, which her father built, since she was 17, has a wonderful garden, cooks great food, and never says an unkind thing about anyone. The seawall that goes all the way from Stanley Park around English Bay and False Creek before becoming a pathway in Kitsilano. Fireworks. Snow on the coast mountains in July! castle 38816 Report post Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) -The Perfect Steak (had recently in Montreal) -The Perfect morning (waking up early enough to not have to rush to get to work on time, a rarity for me lol) -Getting reacquainted with one of your old childhood friends, whom you haven't seen in about 10 years, and realizing things haven't changed in the least between you. -The Perfect Day: Getting to work on time with no rush, no fuss, nice chill day at work, being let go from work early giving you the chance to walk around downtown, soak up the sun and good vibes, listening to some good Blues on your ipod, get an amazingly good sausage from your favorite street vendor, stopping at a gas station and running into a former coworker (a smoking hot former coworker) whom you haven't seen in a while, chat with her for about 10 mins then she gives you a warm hug before leaving and asks you out for drinks at some point and gives you her number, then you leave the gas station and go to an encounter with a SP whom you haven't met yet but have been wanting to for a long time and the encounter goes perfectly, and everything is as you imagined it would be (SaraMQ, I'm looking at you ;) ). This all happened to me recently, and it was by far...the perfect day. The apocalypse couldn't have wiped the smile off my face that day!
