toine 30556 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 What, no one has mentioned Leonard Cohen yet? Not the greatest showman, but what a lyricist! I also love Joni Mitchell's blue period: ...and then there is the rock energy of K-town The Tragically Hips, different generation alright, but already from way back then:

castle 38816 Report post Posted November 26, 2011 The first new Headstones single in almost 10 years. A somewhat inspirational little diddy called BINTHISWAYFORYEARS from those Kingston lads who simply refuse to fade away. "Ain't nothing better than motherfuckin' rock 'n roll"......truer words have never been spoken :D
thedriver 6179 Report post Posted November 27, 2011 Here is one that perhaps no one will know. A local guy from Ottawa that did not make it big but played charity events locally, stage name "Bolt Upright and the Erections". He did a charity event in 1986 with some new members, all local guys from Ottawa most of them worked at CTV. I knew a few guys in the band and my ex-wife was in the audience that night.
