I’m rather new to the hobby and wondering when booking services via text/call, do you use your personal phone or something else/burner? I’ve booked in the past and it was through email so wondering how someone would approach text/calling. Feel free to drop a DM.

I usually use a texting app which can assign you a different number. Something like TextMe or TextFree on iPhone. There are annoying ads but they aren’t the end of the world. Note that some providers look into numbers who text them and will not respond to text app numbers so you would have to either use a different method (email/real number) or you could choose not to book with them ultimately. 

Burner phones are an option too if prepaid phones are still a thing.

Burner phone is the best course of action as the vast majority of providers don't accept bookings via app. Some specifically mention this in their ad.

the cops don’t seem to care about busting this industry but say for fun she gets busted for selling coke or pmping or her biker boyfriend kills a guy , and the cops track down all the numbers and texts  in her

phone .. could lead to questions to you 

 

pretty low probability but likely not Zero ? 

also she could flip and try to ruin your life , that’s happened , not hard to find info about someone from a phone number

One of the providers I had seen was busted two weeks later for drug dealing. She along with her boyfriend was caught from the same hotel that I had seen her. So better to be safe than sorry.

Your phone number has a lot more of your personal information linked to it that you might think. Its best to not leave a big footprint when engaging in this kind of thing. You never know who you are dealing with and what they will do with that info to cause problems for you down the line.

You can find all kinds of anecdotes online for things like girls showing up to people's houses in the middle of the night begging for drug money, all flavors of extortion, getting put on a blacklist because he was 5 minutes late to an appointment and then his wife was suspicious, searches it and finds his number on there etc. Are the chances of any of these things particularly high? Maybe not but personally I'd rather just spend a few bucks on a burner phone and have peace of mind.
