Lots of providers ask for a deposit via e-transfer. What are the risks of doing this, other than the documented transaction on your bank statements?

1) They get your full name when they receive the transfer, and

2) they might not show up.

That said, I generally don't have a problem doing this with reputable providers.

There are some online banks like koho and wealthsimple where you can set up etransfers and you might be able to change the name they come from. It’s still ultimately connected back to you but it’s a way of making it a little more discrete if you need.

Cash and cash only for services rendered.

This is not helpful either but why complicate it with your private information..

Every post like this doesn’t need to turn into a debate. Some people are willing to send deposits and go through screening. Others aren’t. It’s up to each person to make that decision. He asked about the risks and the risks are not “cash only. never send deposits.”

-Permanent record of an illegal transaction
-Violating your banks terms of service (i.e. they can close your account if they wish)
-Violating the e-transfer terms of service
-Recipient gets your full name
-You don't know who exactly you are sending the money to, which naturally leads to scams. You could also unknowingly be sending money to a "3rd party", which may increase legal risk
-You have no recourse if they decide to screw you over

Cash removes all of these risks. If you insist on paying in advance it's much safer to use crypto or even a gift card although obviously you're still at risk of being scammed.

Buying services is illegal, the Canadian government seems to be turning a blind eye to it right now but that could change in the future without even needing to pass any new legislation. If it does, anyone who is brazenly using mainstream, easily trackable electronic financial services to buy is going to get nailed very quickly (this would probably take the form of a bank account being frozen for a year or two while they do an "investigation" rather than criminal charges). Most providers who require deposits leave an enormous digital footprint, I've even seen some on twitter claim that they were questioned when crossing the US border which indicates they have already been flagged. Taking it one step further and pulling the list of anyone who sent money to their account would be very easy.

On my account I can always change the name and email address of the sender.....so no issue.....depends on the bank I guess

-Permanent record of an illegal transaction

If you think cops are waiting for you to do this to catch YOU, you're mistaking, they catch the provider, not the client. And when was the last time you heard of authorities catching a provider in-the-act? Never

-Violating your banks terms of service (i.e. they can close your account if they wish)

How so? You sent money to another person, you both would say it had nothing to do with 'services rendered' therefore, neither of you are in any danger of this. And they would have to be red flagged to see the money change hands, anything less than $10,000 and no human eyeballs at your bank will lay eyes on this transaction, so you have nothing to be afraid of.

-Violating the e-transfer terms of service

If THIS is your concern, then haven't you answered your own question? You're making "risks" out when there are none.

-Recipient gets your full name

No, they don't, and all providers are guaranteeing privacy upon meeting you, if you don't trust them in that regards, then what's the difference if you pay them with cash-only face-to-face? They could still make your phone number public and they could be secretly recording you with their phone hidden in the room that you two are together in. If you're concerned over them having your name because of an etransfer than this whole thing may not be for you.

-You don't know who exactly you are sending the money to

To this logic, you don't know what you're walking into when you arrive at her place or hotel room either. Check to se if they have a history of positive feedback, if they do, ypu're fine, your'e safe, if they don't have any previous feedback or web presence then chances are it's a scam, then yes, no reason to send them money, you're throwing it away.

-You have no recourse if they decide to screw you over

This is always the case no matter HOW you do this, But you never send an etransfer for the full amount, that's crazy, and hopefully that's not what you mean, iff it's 10% then you're not losing out much, so there's no issue. Again, check to see if they are legit, if they have NO presence online beyond just that one ad, then don't send them money, it's that simple.

-crypto or even a gift card

AN etransfer for a down payment for an appointment with her cannot be transferred via these things. It's still money.

-government seems to be turning a blind eye to it right now but that could change

That's because it's a huge waste of resources for no gains. Two consenting adults, one providing funds for the services from another - this is so so soooo low on their radars that I don't see changing anytime soon.

Many of the legit local and traveling ladies have OnlyFans now.  If you are willing to send a deposit, just agree to the amount with the Provider beforehand and let them know you are sending a "tip/deposit" via their OnlyFans.  No bank account involved.  Just don't get specific on the reason for the tip, as too much detail may be against OF rules.  Also gives you a chance to physically see the Provider beforehand via pics or video, if they are new to you.  Caution though, there are OF rip-offs too, so still need to do your due diligence on whether it's a scam or not.  But it's an alternative to consider, if you are worried about using your bank account.

as a general rule, I never do e-transfers. ejaculation isn't worth sacrificing your personal info and having a record of you doing a deed on record. You may think its harmless and ok but, if you have a bad experience with someone or meet a crazy one, they will come for you. Extortion, and blackmailing are just a starter.

Although i do get it from providers perspective that they have to look for their safety, so i dont mind if they have "only deposit bookings". Its just i personally dont go for it. I would rather pay more in-person than having any type of record of transaction.

even if you are itching badly for that one specifc provider that you like the most and want to see her but she asks for deposit. I would still suggest booking a flight to Toronto or Montreal and find someone there coz you'll have a variety of options there to choose from and you'll easily find someone similar who doesn't ask for a deposit. thats what i do.

But that's just my personal opinion. People can do whatever they want, its none of my business. If you feel comfortable, then go ahead. if not then dont.simple

Generally agree with this, however at least in Toronto you'll find that some (not all!) of the agencies have started incorporating a verification requirement, and most (not all!) indys require a deposit.

Totally agree with this. I am all but done with the local scene. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Combine that with endless selection of whatever services tickles your fancy in the bigger cities. This past year I did two Vancouver trips and a Montreal trip. All quite economically. Cheap Flair/Porter flights, decent but inexpensive hotels, a cheap subcompact rental car in Vancouver and Uber, metro and rental bicycles in Montreal to get around. And not a single request for an etransfer with anyone I delt with.

I'd rather do two or three economical trips to bigger cities than deal with what I have found to be mostly disappointment in Halifax.

I don't understand OF.  All the porn you want is free online.  Why pay ?

As long as you make sure the reputable there shouldn’t be any issues .

Most providers don’t care for seeing your name / personal info - the deposit is just to ensure our time is not being wasted .

For instance , someone like me who is touring and coming from a different province then someone randomly cancels or no shows on an hour / two hour booking - I now have to try fill that gap last minute . A huge disappointment especially with the expenses spent on hotels ( flights & trains ) that came out of my OWN pocket .

I not only choose these upscale hotels for my comfort & safety but for my clients as well .

So perhaps , that spot isn’t able to be filled .. I am now stuck in a hotel  . unable to cancel / refund . I would much rather be home , in my own bed . Easily 300-500 wasted .

The comments mentioning bank records / proof of transactions  are paranoids . To say the least . Unless you are some sort of celebrity or have a serious job /status or significant other with access to your account - then yes , discretion could definitely be a cause of concern .

but as mentioned before , checking for  reputable providers is key . Do not just send to any advertisement asking .

I prefer using PP , or fan sites over e-transfer because I prefer my discretion as well . Some banking allows you to change the name too as others have mentioned .

Keep in mind though fan sites ( OF ect .. have a strict policy about prostitution , it can get our accounts banned meaning - we could loose our money/ way of income . ) so NEVER mention anything about in person on there meeting EVER .

If your sending deposit through there - send it but don’t say what it’s for on there . Screenshot or send us a text , or message HERE . with your username / or time it was sent and let us know that’s what it was for .

I've never understood this either?.....I have no idea why OF is popular and why people are making money at it......I'm assuming it's the perceived personal touch you get?....ie the girls are talking to you (although I'm a firm believer that any chat going on outside videocalls,  is more often than not, an assistant to the ladies)

It's almost as if people found a way to monetize the defect in a man's brain that causes him to think that the nice lady serving his dinner is into him?

I mean more power to the ladies but "guys"....get an oculus and enjoy yourself some free VR Porn!....or so I'm told!
