Better word for "busty"?

Recommended Posts

I hate describing myself as "busty," "buxom" or similar.

I'm hoping some of you more verbose members will come up with something good to describe my enormous ta-tas.

For you Berlin I just thought epicurean, luxuriant, luscious, sensualist. How to apply that to describe your bosom, I have no idea but these synonyms come to mind.

Does voluptuous fall into the similar category? It's one of those words I enjoy saying for some reason.

I don't like "busty," either, Berlin. I don't like the sound of it, for one thing. it's not an attractive word, to me.

I describe myself as curvy, occasionally voluptuous, sometimes zaftig. I'd like a few more words, too, though!

"Comely" is appealing, but not exactly right for this purpose.

I never use "buxom." People seem to think it means well-endowed, but it actually meant "obedient" in Middle English. I first encountered this meaning in a medieval English text where the writer noted that "unbuxamnes is a thing that angeles haten" (disobedience is something that angels hate).

I can be disarmingly obedient when I choose to be, but I don't think that's evident from the size of my breasts!

Possessor of ample sweater meat?

Upstairs assets?

Seriously, though, I am not sure you can move away from something as descriptive as busty...buxom is something I've always liked though.

English is a pretty flexible language. You could probably just come up with a breastacular word of your own to describe how cleavalicious you are, and it would all be perfectly cromulent.

i dont like voluptuous personally... too often interpreted as equating to fat. not really specific enough to focus on breasts in particular.

"well-endowed" however, as applied to a woman, equates to chestiness.

"rubenesque" has an artistic flavour to it

to be a little more blunt, my friends and i always referred to a well breasted woman as being "stacked".

I currently describe myself as zaftig and voluptuous, but lately I've been trying to think of ways to better advertise the fact that I have (I think) one of the largest chests in Ottawa (Luxie and Carrie-Moon are the other two giving me a run for my money :) )

I actually don't mind "stacked."

My chest runneth over? Haha.

Additional Comments:

Love this! I'm a huge nerd who loves word origins. This whole time I thought buxom referred to boobies!

Cleavagy? Kinda sounds dirty. I like it.

I've used Chesty; it's simplistic, commonly understood just not very

eloquent. I find mostly it's used as a tasteful or understated way to

comment on someone's breast size.

There is also Full, or full-chested, which is what the ladies said when I got

my chest measured. Another way to understate the obvious I think lol

Stacked or Top-heavy are other ones I've heard, more complimentary or

at least enthusiastically emphasized!

I've always preferred Curvaceous to Voluptuous, but they kind of are

blurred in the generic understanding.

Final answer: well endowed.

How about reworking the word breast.

You can describe yourself as being very breasty (or would it be breastly)

or

more than ample breastiness (or would it be breastliness).

You get the idea.

Large Hooters???

Seriously...Zaftig...sounds like a special division of the Waffen SS!

In advertising and marketing you have to stick with what people recognize and associate with the service they want. I can guarantee that 90% of the horny guys looking for your services will not get Zaftig...voluptuous...maybe....but I betcha about 100% will get the point when you say "Busty"

Just saying

I thought Zaftig was a Woody Allen movie...

... which actually reminds me, a <damn-ed word we cannot find> friend of mine was once described simply as ... "a bit of a Russ Meyer girl". That may work...

I love the term rubinesque...

I like this term too but more for the overall figure.

How about "partake in the splendour of my bounty"

"There'll be not mutiny on this Bounty"

"Trip to Bountiful"
