Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 Anything by Stanley Kubrick (smile). Would you be able to negotiate on "The Shining?"
Kubrickfan 12836 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 Well, if I recall, it was remade as Steven King hated Kubrick's version, but the Kubrick version scared the heck out of most people I know.
datyaddict 2174 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 I think Kubrick's version may have not been a complete success as an adaptation, but on it's own it's excellent. If you want Kubrick-does-King, then, yeah, you may be disappointed. But for Kubrick-doing-Kubrick? Pour me another, Lyle! And as for King hating it... IIRC, Anthony Burgess didn't enjoy the adaptation process much either, to the extent of inserting a parody of Kubrick in the stage version of Clockwork Orange. MiaBella 10988 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 I don't think it's been said yet, but Casino. Amazing movie! Joe Pesci is nuts, Sharon Stone is always stoned, and Robert De Niro is just Awesome... Martin Scorsese is an Untouchable Director.

Could say this about a lot of Scorsese's movies.
