qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted September 11, 2011 150... I'm thinking that somehow this should be part of the "How many times a week do you masturbate? " thread. :)

qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted October 10, 2011 And what happens when you unknowingly marry your half sister or half brother? You get invited to appear on the Jerry Springer, Maury Povish or Dr. Phil show. :)
Megan'sTouch 23875 Report post Posted October 10, 2011 And what happens when you unknowingly marry your half sister or half brother? I believe there is a rule that you can't have 2 children from the same donor within 100 miles of each other. Of course, there is always the possibility of moving, etc. but the chances would be extremely low that two half-siblings would meet each other and have a romantic relationship. Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted October 10, 2011 And what happens when you unknowingly marry your half sister or half brother? Accidental incest is the reason why responsible organizations limit the number of children from an one donor. Of course, there are also irresponsible organizations... As for the WIT's original question: I've toyed with the idea, but never all that seriously. I'm not entirely against the idea.
qwertyaccount 15793 Report post Posted October 11, 2011 I've never really thought about this subject before. Has anyone here ever donated sperm? I've pondered it in the past. Reading the articles you posted reawoken my curiosity. I couldn't find any info at all about donating on Hannam's website http://www.hannamfertility.com so it's understandable why their donations are down. There's quite a bit of info on the Toronto Institute for Reproductive Medicine's (ReproMed's) site: http://www.repromed.ca/donor_faq http://www.repromed.ca/sperm_donor.html It does seem to be a bit of an arduous process for the donor. Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted October 11, 2011 It does seem to be a bit of an arduous process for the donor. Wow. If that's standard, then I suspect getting paid (or not) for donations is almost irrelevant compared to the amount of hassle required to actually donate. It might be OK for someone who lives fairly near to their clinic, but it's a lot of appointments for someone from out of town.
