Mike Watt was a member of the Stooges.

He was also a member of Porno for Pyros.

Porno for Pyros was an offshoot of Janes Addiction when they broke up....

so here is Jane's Addiction

You've really stepped up the connections, OD!

So here's my attempt to keep pace

Dave Navarro was the lead guitarist in the original incarnation of Jane's Addiction. After Jane's Addiction broke up and Izzy Stradlin left Guns 'N Roses, Navarro was Axl Rose's first choice to join the band. However, despite multiple attempts, GNR couldn't get Navarro to show up and play with Slash. However, Axl eventually convinced him to join them to record this song for the End of Days soundtrack

Guns 'N Roses - Oh My God

Well this again should satisfy you all, my dad was a man of the lord while I was growing up and we used to visit many rural villages while he preached his way into the hearts and minds of the village folk. I always loved this one place to visit because their was this beautiful teenage girl who loved to experiment when we both can sneak away that's why I'm tying this up with......

In 1967, another Springfield hit the charts with another song.....

Of course, Buffalo Springfield was the forerunner of supergroups..... CSNY, Poco and Loggins & Messina....

alright, this is more of a challenge.

Paper Lace were a one hit wonder, kinda.

Their other hit, "Billy Don't be a Hero" was covered before they released it in North America by another one hit wonder, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods.

If we let Paper Lace and Bo Donaldson cancel each other out on "Billy," Bo Donaldson is left with "Who do you think you are," a song written by ANOTHER one hit wonder... Jigsaw.

So here is...

Jigsaw - Sky High

Well this singer certainly didn't have a one hit wonder. But Johnny Cash

had a song about a hero

The Ballad Of Ira Hayes

and a song where the character's name is Billy, well Billy Joe

Don't Take Your Guns To Town

A stretch, maybe, but the songs are classics

You guys have been busy with the utterly obscure connections :)

Here's another ballad, about a guy who did take his gun to town

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee

ahhhh utterly obscure indeed.

Phil Calvert was the drummer for Nick and the Seeds.

He left briefly to join the Psychedelic Furs in 1983 but again left the Furs before they recorded again in 1984.

The Psychedelic Furs recorded Pretty in Pink for the John Hughes film of the same name.

John Hughes also did "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

This is from that film.

Yello - Oh Yeah

Not a lot of wiggle room with this.....

Apparently the following song is about gonorrhea.... Angus slept with a groupie when he knew he had the "jack" (Australian for the clap) and figured that would be the end of it... but when she turned around and slept with the drummer and then sent him the bill for prescriptions, Angus felt the need to pen this....

Dammit.

Okay.

In 1998, Shakira released an album that became Laundry Service when released in the English speaking world in 2002.

Her biggest hit on the album and her breakthrough was "Whenever, Wherever", a song co-written by Gloria Estafan.

Gloria Estafan is by nature annoying, but had the following hit in the 80's with the Miami sound Machine

MIAMI SOUND MACHINE - "CONGA"

Well lets just take this to left field then

MIAMI Sound Machine...how about the theme from MIAMI Vice

And what does this have in common with your post OD, well first, Miami, and second, this theme song is kinda annoying like Gloria Estafan LOL

Jan Hammer has played with virtually everyone, including Neil Schon.

Neil Schon was with Journey.

Journey was fronted by the vocal stylings of Steve Perry.

Steve Perry was influenced himself by this man....

That Sam Cooke has absolutely nothing to do with this Sam Cooke... who is a page 3 girl. There will now be a short pause to admire her undoubted talents...

alright, the game's afoot!!!

Samantha Sang was "discovered" by Barry Gibb.

Barry Gibb was one of the Brothers Gibb, or for short, the BeeGees.

The BeeGees were managed by Robert Stigwood.

Robert Stigwood also managed Cream

Cream was a power trio created by superstars Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.

Jack Bruce left Manfred Mann to join Cream.

So without further ado, here's...

Manfred Mann - Mighty Quinn

Mighty Quinn was originally penned by Bob Dylan and recorded in the basement of "Big Pink" in Woodstock with The Band.

The Band's last concert was called The Last Waltz and featured a number of great musicians.... and Neil Diamond, who Robbie Robertson forced into the lineup because he produced some of Diamond's albums.

Diamond didn't really fit with the rest of the performers, however, he still had an unhealthy amount of irrational confidence. After performing his song, he came off stage and "...When Diamond came off stage he remarked to Dylan, "You'll have to be pretty good to follow me", to which Dylan responded, "What do I have to do, go on stage and fall asleep?"

This was the song

Okie dokie, get ready for hokey.

Neil Diamond was born in Brooklyn.

He attended Abraham Lincoln High School.

Abraham Lincoln High School also spawned another act, the Tokens.

The Tokens recorded the Lion Sleeps Tonight.

One of the original members of the Tokens was Neil Sedaka.

Neil Sedaka had a famous cousin....

Eydie Gormé - BLAME IT ON THE BOSSA NOVA

As far as I know, Eydie Gormé and Mel Tormé don't have anything to do with each other (although I'm sure Old Dog could tell me otherwise :D) but their last names rhyme.
