Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Black Sabbath made an album called Sabotage in 1975. Here's the lead-off track from there. Black Sabbath - Hole In The Sky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5BCaerC8rA

Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 alright. Rick Danko was one of the original members of the Band and was a an extraordinary musician.... so much so that in his later years he was drafted by Ringo Starr to be a member of his first All Star band (of which Joe Walsh, Levon Helm, Billy Preston, Clarence Clemons, Nils Lofgren and Dr John were also members....) So ... here's Ringo.... Ringo Starr - Photograph
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 This was the song that just popped in my mind after seeing Photograph, although Carly Simon's Nobody Does It Better (theme from Spy Who Loved Me co starring Barbara Bach) was considered Freeze Frame-J Geils Band RG

AndyofHalifax 15339 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Well that leaves me little choice but to post this song. Which is tipping over into the overplayed category for me, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. Adele - Rolling in the Deep
Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Alright... Adele may be rolling in the deep, but if she gets in too deep, she may up dead... or alive Dead or Alive - In Too Deep
AndyofHalifax 15339 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Well Sigur Ros went on hiatus in 2010 (dead) but are back touring in 2012 (alive!) Plus this song plays in the climax of one of my favourite films The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. During the scene Zissou (Bill Murray) and most of the cast are in a submarine deep in the ocean. Sigur Ros - Staralfur
Reuben Sandwich 13841 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Oh yeah that is some Star. Then there is Star Star. We really know it as Starfucker though. Rolling Stones

Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Okay.... here's a tangential connection. This song begins with YA YA YA YA.... and repeats the same 4 "ya's" throughout, whereas "She Loves You" has three and repeats them throughout. In both cases, the song is remembered for the "ya" factor. The Offspring - All I Want

Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Japan is not in Europe, but this band named Japan came from a member of the EU. Kind of eclectic, kind of glam, kind of new wave... their niche was ummmm.... pretentious buggers who thought Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream were brilliant. I kinda thought they wanted to sound like Roxy Music, but I digress.... Japan - Ghosts
AndyofHalifax 15339 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Here's another "Japanese" band that isn't Japanese in the least. Although I like them more than Old Dog's "Japanese" band Tokyo Police Club - Bambi
