Family and friends carried photos of some of the women. They are asking that government at all levels do more to address these issues. They had a long fabric scroll that many people had signed. As other people wrote their thoughts, I added a humble benediction for the lost. I thought about how people for whom I care a great deal could easily become one of these women.
