Birdboy 10482 Report post Posted November 8, 2011 The title says it all. I can't get it to work on either an iPhone or an Android phone. Whenever I select the option to view the full version of the site in my browser it seems to reload the page, then just displays the mobile version of the site. Suggestions, pretty please, anyone? whatsup 11893 Report post Posted November 8, 2011 I have been experiencing the same. I do not like the mobile version of Cerb and want to view the full Cerb site on my Android, but it always seems to go to the mobile version. Any help would be appreciated to enable us to view the full PC version.
Malika Fantasy 144625 Report post Posted November 8, 2011 I think that if you install Tapatalk or something like that there is a better and more complete version of the site.
Mister T 45020 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 Tapatalk is your best bet for mobile, especially iPhone (never used the Android). You wont have the full version (i.e. as in the same as on a computer) on a mobile.

Mister T 45020 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 But why not ? Browser - URL/web address (non mobile address) - to display ? mmmmm .... Just tried on my iphone web browser ... seems to be working (the full version actually - then i stand corrected)... A few months ago, i had a slightly different version, which must have been the mobile version of the site, which is why i installed tapatalk back then. Many sites have a different, mobile version for surfing over the airwaves, but not being a techie myself, i cant explain how it works. Still, as a user, i now prefer Tapatalk. blumantru 661 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 Once I updated mine to iOS5 it started working properly. There was something before with the previous version of Safari for iPod that was not allowing the full site to be displayed. iOS 5 also fixed some other unrelated issues for me. I would recommend the move.

Birdboy 10482 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'm aware of Tapatalk but I also know it doesn't offer all the features of the full site. No, all I want is to be able to use the option as listed to view the full version. Perhaps this is a bug of the software? Perhaps this is an artifact of not having a full Flash implementation on my mobile device? I wish I knew.
mod 135640 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 I have been tweaking the iphone/ipad detection for mobile and think I have a better solution. The general mobile version does not display the ad banners down the right side of the screen (as banners like that are way too heavy for mobile users to download each time you view a page) but the ipad/iphone and even andoids and such can use the full version better then most mobile devices... so I have changed it for the ipad/iphone to view a less bandwidth intense full version (Without the right side banner ads) Is this better? I am trying to get it so you could choose between the two versions... having issues doing that right now... but let me know if you prefer this or should I keep working on it. Tapatalk does not offer all the features (It only is capable of the basic features and none of the add on stuff or custom stuff)
Birdboy 10482 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 Posted via Mobile Device Additional Comments: Thanks for the efforts mod, I really do appreciate it. Are you going to make the change for Android phones/tablets as well? Posted via Mobile Device
mod 135640 Report post Posted November 9, 2011 If the demand is here for that I will look into it. I am not sure how the android devices announce themselves

I tried it on an iPod Touch and you apparently get the full version now, including the right side animated ads. Yes, the page did seem a little slow. But I thought it was a big improvement over the plain text only mobile site. There's no change on an Android phone, so I'll likely wait till I'm on a full-fledged computer before I view this site. Thanks again.

Birdboy 10482 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 The full site works on my Android phone now. Thanks so much, mod! Additional Comments: I see that the right side banner ads are no longer animated, so the slowness is gone. Thanks again, mod!
mod 135640 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 No Problem... it should work on all android 2.* devices. I told it to allow any android device showing a 2.X version of software as the 1.X version is run on older machines with very low power chips and the mobile version is probably best for those. mod 135640 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 I think the BB's have a setting that says something like "Identify my browser as mozilla firefox" or something along those lines... if so change it to this and the site would not detect that it is mobile. I will add "BlackBerry" to the list as well and see.
Malika Fantasy 144625 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 I have an iPhone 4os and I see the full version of the site now which is SO much better:) Thought when I am not connected to a network the site is a little bit slower probably due to the banner, but I don't really look at them but yay finally the full version of Cerb:D thanks Mod:) technology is awesome! mod 135640 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 The bottom left corner of the site you should see a drop down menu when on a mobile device that supports full website browsing (Android2x, iphone4x, bb6x, etc..) this drop down should let you switch back to mobile or the version listed as "Ipad" the Ipad version removes all the banner on the right side of the screen for bandwidth purposes. The basic mobile version does not support banners so I felt that anyone with a mobile device that wants to use the full screen version should have this option. With all the side banners showing it actually crashes my ipad sometimes.
Birdboy 10482 Report post Posted November 15, 2011 Honestly. There is just no making some people happy! ;) Thanks yet again for all your hard work, mod. Perhaps this is out of your sphere of influence, but is there any way that you might be able to make the Escorts-Canada site mobile-friendly also? It would make life so much easier when I'm on the move.....

If you look at the main page http://escorts-canada.com/ the very first link at the very top of the page says "mobile web browsers Click Here" it just does not autodetect.
