Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Here in Nova Scotia, we've got Shag Harbour on our south shore - home to the annual UFO Festival every August. (The community is named after a seabird - the shag, alias the cormorant.)
Nikki Thomas 23145 Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Lol, back when I was in school, there was a kid in our class named Maxwell House - I always thought it was borderline child abuse to give your kid such an easy name to make fun of! Of course, it's better than naming your kid Adolf Hitler: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063487/Parents-named-children-Adolf-Hitler-Aryan-Nation-wont-receive-custody-newborn-son-Hons.html

Code Blue 3585 Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Lol, back when I was in school, there was a kid in our class named Maxwell House - I always thought it was borderline child abuse to give your kid such an easy name to make fun of![/url] One of the not so distant Lieutenant-Governors of NL is called Maxwell House. Another NL community: Gayside, changed its name to Baytona in the 70's; Little Heart's Delight and mustn't forget Dildo Run - nowhere near the other Dildo. We have a Dr. Nurse, a Nurse Head and not to forget the conversation-stopping Oral Head. Yes, my son, we have them all 'ere! CB
drlove 37204 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Here's one - A few years ago, I was looking through the Yellow Pages in my area, and happened to come across a gent's name that happened to be - Homer Simpson!!! I kid you not!! I swear it's 100% true. Omg, I can't believe he actually had it listed; can you imagine the prank phone calls he must have gotten, or even the ordeal in trying to order a cab or a pizza?!?! LMFAO!!! bcguy42 38594 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Any discussion about unfortunate names will eventually get around to Fonda Dicks. She was a star high school girls basketball player from Moravia, Iowa, in the early '70s. She and I attended the same university at the same time. So facts: There is/was a Fonda Dicks. There is a person so named on LinkedIn. She married Randy Peters. Read about her, Nick Dicks and Muffy Cox here: Road Tips: Fonda Dicks
KaceyKatzegeist 152 Report post Posted December 1, 2011 You have to go through Blue Balls to get to Intercourse, PA, too. ;) There's also Chicken, Alaska. They wanted to name the town Ptarmigan after the little birds that kept them going up there the first while, but thought people would make fun of their town ... Chicken is much better.
