APower20 400 Report post Posted November 20, 2012 Is it possible to quit the hobby? Yes. I quit for 3 years because I was in a serious relationship, and will again if I ever get into another one. I don't cheat, and only hobby when I'm single. Hobbying is convenient and costs about the same amount as dating, only you get the prize right away and don't have to wait. Quitting forever? Possible, but I like to feel a warm, naked, body against mine...so whether it's a relationship or hobbying I'm never giving up women. It's nice to know that someone to warm your bed and cock is only a phone call away, when you're feeling horny or lonely (or both). But I try not to confuse hobbying with a real relationship, it's a beautiful mirage that leaves your wallet weeping and unless your buddies are very laid back...it's not something you can talk about with them. It's not something you have to work at, it's something you have to work for, like any luxury. The lack of effort involved makes it seem to easy, not something worth doing at all. I'm just getting back into the hobby, and my first experience was underwhelming. While the SP performed magnificently, my head just wasn't in the game and the experience suffered because of it. If my next experience is the same, I'll probably take a longer break...it just doesn't seem do it for me anymore. :(

Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted November 20, 2012 Simple and brief answer is no I cannot. Believe me I tried last year and was partially successful for 2 months but came back as the life related stress got to me bad and needed strongest available medication (beautiful ladies) very bad to de-stress my stressful work weeks. May be I quit after I retire when my life would be likely stress free. Btw, in the memory of Seymour, the OP. A total and complete gentleman and a great cerb friend whose kind is very very rare. Apparently he quit. My best wishes to him. I hope that wherever he is and whoever he is with, he is enjoying a healthy, happy prosperous life.
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted November 21, 2012 Right now, I'd have to say no. We all need human companionship. Dating for me had too many complications, strings attached and drama. This lifestyle, enjoy the companionship the ladies provide. And there is is no complications, no strings and no drama. No risk of capital "F" feelings...in fact the only "F" word that might develop is friendship So I won't quit...for now. I receive female companionship. Should I (can't see it happening now) find a woman and it develops into a relationship, maybe marriage, then yes, I would give up this lifestyle But ironically, in a relationship I'm monogomous, but I thoroughly enjoy the polyamorous aspect of this lifestyle, and don't know if I could give this up to go back to a monogomous lifestyle So for now, I can't see me giving up this lifestyle RG

Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted November 22, 2012 JustJack, I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but RG is a well-liked and much-respected member of CERB. If you don't appreciate his posts, that's fine; nobody's forcing you to read them. But please rest assured that snarky comments like the one you've just made will not change anyone else's opinion of RG's worth; they may well, however, change people's opinion of yours.

Athos 108589 Report post Posted November 22, 2012 It's not possible for me to quit. I've gone through periods of much less intense activity, but never for a second have I thought, that's it, I'll never do this again. For me, even saying that would simply be self-deception. When it comes to beautiful, sensuous, engaging women ... I'm prepared to admit that I am extremely weak! Porthos

kmwq 5477 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 I tried quitting a few years ago and went about 3 years without but fell off the wagon. But I am thinking about it again because I'm in my early 50's older and the SP that I'm attracted to are usually in their 20's and although it hasn't really matter to the SP, it is starting to feel weird to me. I've been looking for older SPs but it doesn't completely do it. The service is great but the attraction isn't there for me.

luvsyofap 215 Report post Posted November 27, 2012 a good question would be how do you know if you quit? Is there a way to tell depending on how often you do it. You can say you haven't done it in a few months or years, but at the same time that can be just a hiatus. Maybe it's just me but that's how I see it. I suspect this is similar to what is said of alcoholics - once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. They may not have had a drink for 18 years but the craving is still there. I further suspect this is exactly where I am with the hobby. And couldn't be happier.

I think you may need to still work through your feelings on the breakup first. It is often difficult to simply enjoy an SP if you are recently out of a 3 year relationship. This is totally normal. Being single and using the SP approach is fine especially if you are faithful in your past relationship. Just give yourself time if you can before using an SP so that you can enjoy just the fun fun without attachment so your feelings don't get muddled up and blurred between the last relationship and the hobby. Cheers. Additional Comments: APower20, Excellent and insightful post. I think you may need to still work through your feelings on the breakup first. Thanks for the comments, very true about having to work out my personal feelings first. As for calculating things out, it was an exaggeration/joke. If I had to pay an SP for the equivalent amount of sexy time as was in my last relationship (even on a monthly or weekly basis) I would be in the poor house. newboy 4919 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 Interesting topic, and I have read every post from the begining. For me, (a guy in his mid 50's who doesn't do relationships), for many years SP has not only been a way to help with the loneliness, but also a way to find sex. Porn has always been a part of my life, and SP is also a way to do those things that I have seen on the screen for many, many years. The unfortunate part for me is twofold: > Cashflow is critically hurting, far too many dollars on the way out, and too few on the way in. > I have a great SP who I see regularly, and she provides me with lots of extreme porn style encounters. Sometimes I feel that I have, "done it all"... and in some cases, I cannot ejaculate because I am not "excited" enough. Do I want to quit, no. Will I quit, no. Should I quit, because of the two reasons above, probably yes. Time will tell, NB

Travelled Europe many times. Experienced local 'culture' ;) My advice is to lay off on the porn, it helped me. Also, for some reason sexual experiences seem so much hotter the first time. Can't figure out why...
castle 38816 Report post Posted December 8, 2012 Personally, for myself the only way I see myself quitting is when I eventually find myself in a committed relationship in which things remain exciting and spicy in the bedroom. I know from experience that (for myself) doing both is not an option. Its too hard on my conscience.
Guest c**io**m7 Report post Posted December 8, 2012 I did my budgeting...sat back and realized that, even though I was having the time of my life, I just couldn't keep up the pace. I haven't stopped but, I have certainly stopped chasing the volume and trying every new girl I see advertising in town. Once in a while, I see a certain lady in town and each encounter is great fun with great conversation, cuddles, gfe and pse. I enjoy my time with her and I do believe she enjoys her time too. She has even surprised me a couple times by having one of her lady friends there with her when I arrived...if you know what I mean. ;-) I do still visit the occassional new girl in town (especially the petite Asian girls) but, I pick and choose very carefully, with great thought. I will likely quit one day but I am not yet ready.
