drlove 37204 Report post Posted December 16, 2011 My girlfriend wants to go on birth control, but I'm still freaked out about the possibility of getting her pregnant. Therefore, I thought the best option would be the Mirena IUD since it's reportedly 99% effective. Has anyone had any experience with it? Any issues/problems? Some woman have a smaller canal than others, so if she starts to bleed after sex, have it removed immediately. Another possibility, do you want kids? Get snipped. drlove 37204 Report post Posted December 16, 2011 It's weird... we've been relying on condoms at this point, and for some reason I'm more comfortable with them even though I know they have a higher failure rate than the Mirena.
