mrrnice2 157005 Report post Posted January 6, 2012 Just wanted to share this. My first year married we were in a high rise right on de Maissoneuve Blvd in downtown Montreal, in a tiny apartment. There was a flower shop at street level that sold Christmas trees - maybe three feet high, and already in their own stand. The stand was a bucket with the tree buried in cement that filled the bucket. Ever try to water a tree encased in cement? But, the tree stand was very sturdy.:) Ah, Christmas past..... roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted January 6, 2012 Three letter word why I don't put up a tree C-A-T From personal experience, probably shared by many, not only do they knock ornaments off the tree, but they like climbing the tree...and when a heavy cat gets to the top of the tree what happens...it topples over God forbid they chewed the wires for the lights RG
