Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted March 31, 2012 Interesting... I see the concern for families with children, but if brothels were in the downtown area, they are more accessible, and pose less of a risk to the White Picket Fence types. Here's hoping the Canadian Government (I refuse to call it the Harper Government) will actually let this pass when it reaches Supreme Court - which it will, I'm certain of it. RobX 2084 Report post Posted March 31, 2012 Some of the numbers in the poll are quite interesting. First of all, comparing the numbers with those in the earlier Angus-Reid polls, cited by WrinkledinTime, support for the legalization of brothels in Canada seemed to have decreased somewhat, which is disappointing. Secondly, support in Western Canada is higher in the West than in the East, which goes against the image of pro-Conservative pro-Harper West. The numbers for Quebec are not included in the story. Quebecers are generally more progressive and one would suspect that support in Quebec would be high. The poll results also show a major difference in the opinion of men vs women on the issue. This is why I noted that the older Angus-Reid polls "asked the question with a preamble regarding safety". How a question is framed always has an impact on how it is answered. The exact wording and context of the question asked in the recent Forum Research poll has yet to be disclosed.
