Lexy Grace 103697 Report post Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) May I ask what members are all organizing Halifax's 1st Ever Social?? Come on, don't be shy. I won't bite unless you ask... All my love, Lexy Edited May 9, 2012 by Lexy Grace
cometman 35115 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 If any more Nova Scotian ladies get suspended, the odds will change quickly. Holy jumpin'...........is it the pollen in the air? Behave, all you Cerbites, or else we'll have to recruit heavily from other regions.
Lexy Grace 103697 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 If any more Nova Scotian ladies get suspended, the odds will change quickly. Holy jumpin'...........is it the pollen in the air? Behave, all you Cerbites, or else we'll have to recruit heavily from other regions. My question was very simple as many ladies and gents would like to know; What members are all organizing Halifax's 1st Ever Social?? To respond to your comment in a very neutral and positive way and IMHO; I love and welcome all touring ladies but what will happen when all the locals leave, tour more because of comments like this. Note the bold comment.. May be we need more traveling gentlemen to visit. We all love the travelers. I certainly do!! Suspensions and such have nothing to do with my original question regarding the organization of the social at hand.
Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted May 9, 2012 Lexy, cometman meant recruiting attendees for the social, since it's been mentioned that suspended members are not eligible to attend. I don't think there's any mystery about the organizer - it appears that taloon is carrying the ball on this one.
Lexy Grace 103697 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 It appears that taloon is the organizer. I and a number of members were/are just curious as to if and why taloon is the only organizer?
Boomer 33202 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 I suspect that Taloon is doing this on his own. I think it's just a matter of him taking the bull by the horns and running with it. It's a lot of hard work to do an event of this size. Many point to the Ottawa experience with socials, but one has to remember that there were quite a few here and that some of the early ones were quite small and we learned as they evolved in time. I remember going to one of the first at the Honest Lawyer where there might have been 7-8 people. I would suggest that one of the ladies contact Taloon and give him a little bit of a hand. I think this would be beneficial as she could be a liaison with the ladies who are considering attending. One other point. Who is invited is really under control of the organizer. CERB is the place where information is passed on, and as a way to communicate but at the end of the day is not the sponsor, and has no responsibility for the event. So if you have any concerns go to him and help him out.
cometman 35115 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 I and a number of members were/are just curious as to if and why taloon is the only organizer? Taloon could answer this best, but until he does, I do believe Penelope has been helping as well as Angela in Ottawa as an adviser- due to her work in setting up Ottawa socials. I'm sure there may be others, as well. Here's the original thread. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=86717
taloon 1472 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 Hey folks, sorry I'm so late responding to this one. The answer is: I am the only one who is organizing the social at this point. Penelope Davis was originally helping, but has since had to bow out. Why am I the only one? Not sure really. Other people have asked to help out, but I haven't really needed any assistance so far except for people to plug the social. If that changed I'll let the people who have offered know. I am fully aware that I have only been a member for a few weeks, and I am also fully aware that many people do not trust me as of yet. I really don't hold them any ill will. I will continue to work hard to gain everyone's trust the best way I know how: make this social the best I can make it. Why do I want this social to happen? Like many folks I am curious to meet new people and perhaps find someone I can really feel comfortable with and become a long-term client. (Something I have never had) If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. If you are in Halifax and want to meet up, let me know. I'd love to answer any questions/concerns you have in person if it will ease your mind. So far I am very happy with the response and I hope it gets even better. I would also like to shout out a big THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up. I will try to not let you down!

Hello taloon, I know you've had some of the gents speak to your character and there are some concerns as you know from the ladies as well as males regarding you organizing the social. Just as some advice, may be it's time you contact and see one of the well respected and reputable CERB ladies. Have her speak to your character, assuming she accepts and can/will vouch for you. Hearing from the gents is great but from a lady, I'm certain IMHO it will increase your credibility and that is certainly no way taking from the wonderful gents that you have met and have spoken to your character. Just my thoughts!! Big Hugs and Kisses, Lexy
taloon 1472 Report post Posted May 12, 2012 I agree with you 100% Lexy. If any of you lovely ladies are in the Halifax area and would like to meet up please let me know. Lexy Grace 103697 Report post Posted May 12, 2012 I agree with you 100% Lexy.If any of you lovely ladies are in the Halifax area and would like to meet up please let me know. My schedule is fairly open and would love to have a chat with anyone who is interested. You're just so sweet and have such gentlemen qualities from what I have read from you. I was talking about you being a hobbyist researching a well respected and reputable lady from CERB, contacting her, see if she is willing to accept an encounter and spending some real quality conversation and play time time with her and having an actual encounter. There may just be a well respected and reputable lady from CERB that will meet with you for no compensation for her time but obviously for longer than 10 minutes, as a real good conversation and gaining someones trust at least from the female perspective takes much longer and also for a well respected and reputable lady from CERB to put her name on the line and vouch for you. I don't mean to put you on the spot at all and I apologize if you feel that I have but you not meeting or discussing that you have met any of us well respected and reputable ladies has been one of the major concerns from the well respected and reputable ladies from CERB, as we view our safety, trust, discretion and privacy as a huge part when attending an event such as this and I am sure the gents feel the same way in regards to trust, discretion and privacy. Like I previously mentioned prior, hearing from the gents is great but from a well respected and reputable lady from CERB, I'm certain IMHO it will increase your credibility and that is certainly no way taking from the wonderful gents that you have met and have spoken to your character. A well respected and reputable lady from CERB is certainly not the same but can be a lady with many but not all or only recommendations and no real contribution or participation in the board. I truly believe the type of lady I am describing to you would have gained more trust and credibility as member to speak on your behalf. Just my thoughts!! Big Hugs and Kisses, Lexy
markinhalifax 1174 Report post Posted May 12, 2012 Lexy, you have such a way of putting things in a way that is very sweet and respectful, and yet very clear and to the point. I have to concur with Lexy's sentiments. I'm newish here, but as a hobbiest, discretion and privacy are paramount. By all accounts, Taloon is a great guy, but there is really no way of knowing. Just as I am fairly new with not much track record, I would expect everyone to be a little tentative if I were organizing the event. I'm not really into the social thing, but perhaps another hobbiest or an sp would like to give this poor guy a hand in organizing it. Again, no disrespect to Taloon, as he might be thinking that "no good deed shall go unpunished" at this point.
