BBWlinda 100 Report post Posted May 20, 2012 A Vancouver man is set to go to trial for bestiality, a charge that is rarely prosecuted in the courts. The SPCA alleges it has seized video of Brian Cutteridge, 38, engaged in sexual acts with his dog. "The B.C. SPCA first started investigating this case back in 2010 when we received some information that this individual was sexually interacting with his dogs, which is illegal in Canada," said SPCA spokesperson Marcie Moriarty. Cutteridge has argued openly against bestiality laws and has written extensively about sexual relationships with animals. Two years ago he published a paper called For the Love of Dog: On the Legal Prohibition of Zoophilia in Canada and the United States. "He feels very strongly that that should be something that's legal," Moriarty said. "He feels those relationship with his dogs are equivalent to a marriage-type relationship and that's not the case in Canada, thank goodness, and it can impact the welfare of the animals." Cutteridge's dogs are in the custody of the SPCA. The B.C. SPCA is asking veterinarians to come forward if they suspect owners are engaging in sexual acts with their pets. Cutteridge is expected to appear in B.C. Supreme Court on March 14 to set a trial date.
Eagle 1401 Report post Posted May 22, 2012 Sexual contact with animals is associated with several significant health risks. Areas of possible concern are infection, physical injury and allergic reaction. Infections that are transmitted from animals to humans are called zoonoses. Some zoonoses may be transferred through casual contact, but others are much more readily transferred by activities that expose humans to the semen, vagina/penis fluids, urine, saliva, feces and blood of animals. There are about 14 different kind of zoonoses. New diseases that can jump from animals to humans are called emerging zoonoses. The emerging zoonosis situation changes constantly, in an upward trend. An example from the equine species is the rare Hendra virus, originally passed from flying foxes to horses. The implications for zoophilic sexual contact of each emerging disease should be carefully assessed by practitioners. Humans may be at substantial physical risk and seriously harmed by sexual activity with animals. Larger animals may have the strength and defensive attributes (e.g. teeth, hooves, horns, claws) to injure a human, either in rejecting physical or sexual contact. Sexual organs of other species may not safely conform to the human anatomy. For example, the penis of a dog has a broad bulb at the base which can cause injury if forcibly pulled from a human orifice, and esquines can thrust suddenly and "flare" inside a human orifice. In 2005, Keneth Pinvan, a resident of Enumclaw, Wa state died from internal injury after being anally penetrated by a stallion. In 2002, a 62-year-old farmer in bulgaria was treated for a torn rectum after sex with a boar (male pig). In 1976, a 46-year-old farmer underwent surgery for peritonis after sex with a boar. HIV (the " AIDS" virus) was originally a zoonosis acquired from primates (notably monkeys) in Africa, probably via hunting and eating but possibly via animal bite. It only lives in primates (humans, apes and monkeys) and is not believed to survive long away from the human or animal body and fluids Sensitization and allergic reactions to animal saliva and semen may occur, ranging from mild irritation to anaphylaxis. Although dried skin flakes, known as dander, are the most commonly cited allergen, dog saliva is a more potent allergen than dander. An estimated 10% of people are allergic to animals in general, rising to 20-30% amongst asthma sufferers; the percentage of people allergic to animal secretions in particular is currently unknown. Repeated exposure to secretions after sensitization has already occurred may subsequently provoke an anaphylactic reaction, which can be life-threatening. Malena Parisi 5142 Report post Posted May 22, 2012 OMG this is sick!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, this person should be locked up and the key should be thrown away, I can't even believe that this guy is fighting this. For him to compare his relationships with his dogs with a marriage is ludicrous. What goes through the minds of these people? Are they physically attracted to animals or just plain desparate? This kind of news just makes me shake my head and wonder WTF.

In the case of Pinyan, it was discovered that this incident was due to a series of instances in which Pinyan and two companions would videotape and have sex with horses and other animals on a farm in Enumclaw, Washington. The videos were confiscated by police and used while investigating his death. The videos shown Pinyan pushing the animals to have sexual contact with him.
