roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 I've been mulling over whether to start a thread on this or not. On one hand it is somewhat personal, but this has had a major, positive change on the quality of my life, and maybe it can help someone else To start off with, I have a medical condition requiring prescription drugs. One of the drugs was discontinued and replaced with another drug. The side effect of this new drug, well erections were hit and miss, mostly miss And it's not an understatement to say that if I don't these prescriptions, it is almost a life and death decision, and no, I'm not being melodramatic ED drugs (viagra etc) I can't take. I was originally told by my doctor it's because of my prescription, but later, he told me that because of a history of strokes in my family, ED drugs can't be prescribed. I basically resigned myself to living with erections hit and miss But awhile back Soleil posted about l-arginine. And thank you so much Soleil. I did some research, went to my doctor, he checked, no interactions with my prescription and recently I got the ok to use it. What l-arginine does is help circulation amongst other things, including to the penis. And it doesn't have all the negative side effects as viagra My specific case may not be the same as someone else's, but if someone on CERB has a ED problem, and the usual drugs can't be used, check into l-arginine. And ladies, if you have a client in the same predicament, let him know. I know it has improved the quality of my life. L-Arginine can be purchased in stores selling supplements, like GNC. If this helps but one person, the post is worthwhile. It has certainly improved the quality of my life, more than one can imagine RG
Studio 110 by Sophia 150333 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Wonderful!! I am so happy have shared this us! So thankful that Soleil had suggested this to you! I will defiantly pass on the info, and suggest some of my close friends to check it out with their doctor.
brockvilleman 615 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 do you need a perscription from your doctor or is this an over the counter.
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 No prescription, just a supplement you get from stores like GNC or Popeyes http://www.gnc.com/home/index.jsp http://www.popeyescanada.com/ BTW not endorsing any store here. I just had to check with my doctor to make sure it doesn't have negative interactions with my prescriptions The only side effect I noticed, is the one I was looking for RG
Vanguard 278 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 I agree totally that this stuff works. I've used it as part of my workout regime on and off for years and enjoyed the added benifits. In the beginning I used to get jokes about me using it for "something else". The comments went over my head until I realized that ALL of my body parts were getting harder! hahaha ;)
Sappho 1247 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 It also has a variety of other uses, and it is also good for increasing a woman's libido and intensity of orgasms as well. Good to hear that some natural remedies are still encouraged and work well for most! Thanks RoamingGuy for putting some possible embarrassment you might have felt to pass on information that others might be able to use. :)
oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted July 20, 2012 Pycnogenol might be something to look into as well, but you should talk to your doctor of course (something to do with nitrate). Pycnogenol "Limited research suggests pycnogenol, used alone or in combination with L-arginine, might improve sexual function in men with ED. It seems to take up to three months of treatment for significant improvement." I've noticed wood improvement almost immediately after taking it. Lots of good reviews here, and I-herb always has great prices and quick shipping to Canada: http://www.iherb.com/product-reviews/Healthy-Origins-Pycnogenol-100-mg-60-Veggie-Caps/4128/?p=1 I've noticed it can cause heartburn though. Boomer 33202 Report post Posted July 20, 2012 I gave this compound a try a number of years ago. I believe that it can be bought in the pure form in the US, but in Canada it is available only as an ingredient of some of the body building supplements. I tried a regime of slowly increasing the amount, but it didn't seem to give me the results I wanted. It may be that I didn't reach a suitable amount or try for long enough to acclimate. So, for me it was a bust, and I can use the little blue pill if I want.

I get it in capsule form at GNC (not plugging the store) and not as an ingredient in some of the body building supplements (although it may also be an ingredient in them too, I don't know) and didn't have to go to the U.S to get it For me, I noticed a change within a half hour of taking it, but it took two weeks of daily taking it to really notice a difference. But what's important is what works for each individual...just happy this works for me If taking this, what is important, it isn't something to be taken just before a sexual encounter, it is something to be taken on a regular basis daily (I take 4 500mg caps 3 times a day, btw that is recommended dosage) This is what the bottle looks like RG

Soleil Sublime 38108 Report post Posted July 21, 2012 I'm so very happy I could help RG. And knowing this is a common issue, I thought I would do a little research on the subject. After quite a while of looking for an alternative, I finally came across it last year. I found myself a guinea pig and well, I know it works, as I've seen the results first hand. And yes, it's good for women too. It's just a wonderful little pill that can help with the thrill. What the heck have you got to lose? Happy screwing!
Guest N***he**Ont**y Report post Posted July 21, 2012 I would like to add to this thread by mentioning a plant extract that is called Erectus that works very well. Up to three teaspoons added to a juice or beverage an hour before and you are ready to go.Available at most health stores

From what I read online there have been a couple of studies with varying results, it doesn't work for everyone but clearly it works for RG, guess others would have to try it for themselves to see if it works. Seems relatively low risk.

roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 23, 2012 Here is an interesting comparison of the two http://www.drrossdc.com/Arginine%20vs%20Viagra.htm I think one thing to stress about l-argenine is that it is to be taken on a daily basis according to the instructions on the bottle, not just before sex. It has really improved the quality of my life. It may not work for everyone but I'm happy to say it works for me RG
bob54 2157 Report post Posted September 1, 2012 Side Effects of L-Arginine Although L-arginine may be safe when taken in the short term, it can cause a number of side effects (including indigestion, nausea, headache, bloating, diarrhea, gout, blood abnormalities, allergies, airway inflammation, worsening of asthma, and low blood pressure). Higher doses of L-arginine can increase stomach acid, so it may also worsen heartburn, ulcers, or digestive upset caused by medications. Due to safety concerns, L-arginine should be avoided by diabetes patients, people who have suffered a heart attack, and pregnant or nursing women. In addition, L-arginine may aggravate symptoms in people with herpes.

I've been on it daily since mid-June, the only side effect is the one I was seeking, erections now hit, not miss :-) Obviously, everyone's personal medical history is a deciding factor. Just as taking ED drugs are an option for some, but for those (like me) who have a family medical history of Stroke, it can't be taken. And I'm taking l-argenine it after consultation with my doctor. Is it the solution for everyone, no. But it may be a solution for some RG

Hector17 9215 Report post Posted September 1, 2012 I bought some stuff in Mexico called "Him Caps", that is a natural supplement. A trusted friend there told me about it, and said it's very popular there. Cant say that I have done enough research with it to guarantee it. but I can't tell you it failed either. (I am in a bit of an in between zone when it comes to needing to rely on supplements). Maybe someone wants to reserach the ingredients ..guarana? maca? I am going in a couple of weeks so will try to get some more. They're only about $6 a package at "ahorro farmacias". There is a website, but I am not good at finding out how to translate it. DukeSSk 3430 Report post Posted September 1, 2012 Another alternative is Butcher's Broom, known to improve circulation in the lower half of the body. No need for a prescription; I noticed that my local nutrition/supplement store has some. A word of caution, it raises the heartbeat and blood pressure. someguy 67067 Report post Posted September 1, 2012 I have taken L-Arginine for over a year now. for circulation and blood pressure and weight loss. I can say that I find it works. GNC has another product called ArgineMax which is for men's health, It has other well know ingredients in it including L-arginine. I've loss 15 lbs since using it, but I've been working out a lot and taking other supplements. So I don't know if it has helped, but I couldn't lose weight before. So who knows. I recommend it's use. roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted September 3, 2012 I have taken L-Arginine for over a year now. for circulation and blood pressure and weight loss. I can say that I find it works. I've loss 15 lbs since using it, but I've been working out a lot and taking other supplements. So I don't know if it has helped, but I couldn't lose weight before. So who knows. I recommend it's use. I took a look at ArgineMax when I went to GNC. Unfortunately, for me, with my medical condition, it contains gingko and ginseng, both of which are contra indicated with my prescription. That was one thing my doctor was looking out for when we discussed me taking l-arginine. BTW I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying it's bad for me...everyone's medical history/condition is unique, and taking these supplements should be done after consultation with your doctor But something else I discovered, and got the ok on, also sold at GNC was stuff called Brad King's Ultimate Libido. Now this I don't take every day, unlike l-arginine. But the day of an encounter, well I take it in the morning and an hour before the encounter begins. Do I wish I didn't have to take this stuff...yes. It would mean I didn't have a serious medical condition, which requires medication. But, given the hand I was dealt with (health wise that is), this seems to be an acceptable solution RG
Lurker 100 Report post Posted September 9, 2012 Thank you so much! I take medications that don't effect erections but they do effect the aftermath and the ability to orgasm. I'm going to give this a try and see if it has a similar effect and helps me with my issues.
