roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 This thread is probably going to sound like unorganized convoluted ramblings, if so sorry for that. We have had some notable members depart CERB for personal reasons and there have been threads come out as a result. First off, this isn't a bash at those threads. It is understandable that people reflect when there is a loss in the community. Yes, a loss in the community. But I decided to start a thread, hopefully positive. First, there are many escort boards, but how many have this sense of community. That the loss of some members is felt by all. It isn't just a case of leaving a board. But something should be kept in context, those members did leave of their own decision. And they can return any time they chose too. They also have respect and thought highly of the CERB community, because they chose to announce their departure, instead of just quietly closing their accounts. One more thing to remember, yes, some notables did depart. But personal life circumstances change (for everyone) and maybe they felt they had been here too long, who knows. But remember, not just those who left, and yes will be missed. Remember the many members still here still contributing to this community But while there has been reflections on the loss of members, maybe attributing it to other factors, we should keep in mind what a positive environment CERB is. I have been on some other _ERB and other escort boards, and left. Maybe CERB isn't perfect (hope Mod doesn't suspend for saying that LOL) but compared to the others, it is pretty close. It allows a forum for discussion while trying to keep a positive atmosphere. It is this positive atmosphere that allows the ladies and gentlemen to interact here equally. And the ladies feel safe here. CERB, it is more a case of we are all opposite sides of the same coin. My impression of the other boards, from my experience, it was more a hobbiest versus SP atmosphere, more a boys club. So yes, it is natural to reflect on the loss of some notable members. But that reflection also reinforces what a great community CERB is. That members are more than just profiles on a board, that their contributions are valued and what make CERB more than just a escort site, it makes it a community. And the losses while still felt, don't or shouldn't, for one second, diminish the sense of community here. I'm sure our departed ex-members would want the CERB community to continue on as it has been going Some ramblings
Athos 108589 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 I agree completely RG. Perfection is impossible, in part because no one could agree on what constitutes perfection. This is a functioning and supportive community. We care about each other, which is precisely why we feel the departure of prominent members as a loss. Like you, I've been a member of several boards, and they can degenerate into nasty, backbiting horror stories. CERB is awesome by any standard, and I'm glad I found it. mrgreen760 37785 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 I'm not emtionally attached to Cerb, for me it is what it is. I enjoy a varied view and find utility in all forums the other erb, twitter etc that are available. Peace MG

I too find Cerb to be a useful tool if you will but neither am I emotionally attached to it. I find this board to be much more understanding than other boards that end in erb but as with all things it is not perfect...and neither am I.
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) Though I don't necessarily agree with the OP's comments but I fully respect his views and that is what cerb should be all about, that is to respect other members' views no matter how different they may be to ours and their freedom to express it in a friendly tolerant community. As it was stated in the prior post I too use cerb as a useful tool without any attachments to it or feeling fanatic about it (a likely reversal of how I felt 2-3 years ago). The other board has its own advantages too and I enjoy my time over there as well with the friends I have made though my friendship here goes longer and deeper. I am surprised at the notion that the other board was described as hobbyist versus SP as I don't recall hostile clashes of opinions between the two sides on the other board but again that is just my observation. One think that I admire about cerb (and is likely unique to this board) is that hurtful reviews and fightings are prohibited and that I totally agree as it should be. And more importantly, the fact that the ladies feel safe here and that scores highest in my book. Edited July 31, 2012 by Capital Hunter
