Boomer 33202 Report post Posted February 20, 2015 I'm a fan of the British detective shows, and recently there's been a show on PBS which I'm enjoying. It's an unusual show set 50 years ago, the village vicar teams up with a detective to solve crimes. He's a jazz fan , takes a drink and has a couple of ladies in his life. Grantchester is the name of the show Also year three of the Vikings started last night.
CristyCurves 169032 Report post Posted February 20, 2015 Lots of great shows mentioned here...one I'm really enjoying is Orange is the new Black. I was binge watching that the last storm, what a great series, all the characters and their bios, so interesting, keeps you watching.
Guest K***e D****ls Report post Posted February 21, 2015 I recently finished 'Wentworth', an Australian show about women's prison. Like 'Orange Is The New Black' but with a smarter, more intricate storyline and better characters. Like the female 'Prison Break' in terms of how connected everything was in the plot. dtf5791 305 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 Prisoners of War. The Israeli inspiration for Homeland. Just raw, brutal to watch. I loved the British version of Shameless. American version, too. Someone else mentioned Misfits, made me smile. I thought I was the only one. Orphan Black. The Ukrainian clone alone is worth watching, as far as I am concerned. Game of Thrones, of course. I have season four lying on my kitchen table, ready to be devoured.

Gabriella Laurence 301887 Report post Posted March 15, 2015 I don't know if these two have been mentioned but I've been enjoying: - The Following A brilliant and charismatic, yet psychotic serial killer communicates with other active serial killers and activates a cult of believers following his every command. - Helix A team of scientists are thrust into a potentially life-or-death situation in this thriller, which begins with the group being deployed to the Arctic to secretly investigate what could be a disease outbreak.
fiskaa 2600 Report post Posted March 15, 2015 I've been enjoying The Americans. Keri Russell is one mean lady in this series, not to mention incredibly sexy! Takes place in the early eighties, fun to see the styles and music from those days.

mrrnice2 157005 Report post Posted March 15, 2015 I recently watched the three seasons of Sherlock on Netflix. Each season consists of three one and a half hour episodes. It's a modern take on Sherlock Holmes with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Sherlock and Martin Freeman playing Dr. Watson. By the second episode in Season one I was hooked. Apparently there will be a Christmas episode this year and a new season 4 is in the works. Highly recommended from this man.

fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted March 15, 2015 I've been enjoying The Americans. Keri Russell is one mean lady in this series, not to mention incredibly sexy! Takes place in the early eighties, fun to see the styles and music from those days. I thought one funny part, regarding the music, the teen girl listening to some music about how it is like the best song ever: A song from one of their total of two albums, and they were together two years. It was, however, a really really cool song and I still love it lol.
fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted March 19, 2015 The first episode of IZombie was interesting. I guess it is based on a comic book, the visual effects had that in it, not unlike Constantine. Altho the episode had a murdered escort in it as what was being investigated, they still did a lot of things right: the escort was always referred to as a call girl rather than the alternative more derogatory terms, even when the police were talking about her. There were 3 characters, one older woman from Romania who we know is not a trafficking victim, or a madam. One younger American who is working her way thru school, and then the murdered Romanian also not a trafficking victim, and her only criminal record is for theft (the basis of the motive). The bad guy was the cop, which is reflective of US sex worker reality in that much of the violence against them comes out of it being criminalized, and from cops. Also, we see where she lived, which as the cop points out, is nicer than his apartment, so we know she made good money, not desperate or drug addicted. And the motive for her death was not her work or anyone trying to control her to keep her working, it was due to her kleptomania. And since we don't get to 'meet' her, this bit of info is very humanizing. Also there is a bit of comedy with another of their clients who does some role playing, as in more about clients and escorts that is not skeezy and desperate and violent. Also a supporting one liner role to the guy who lives across the hall from the older woman got to say something along the lines of 'it's her body, her choice'. ;)
Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 I loved Prison Break! I also watched Pretty Little Liars and The Facts Of Life lol Thanks to the lovely Eva who told me about Prison Break, I have been binge-watching the series Season 1-4 on Netflix - and loving it! :) I must admit that this show was one of the rare ones that had me on the edge of my seat right from the beginning till the end. After the series ended in 2009, Fox has now announced that the fifth season will debut in April 2017. Fans of this TV series will all rejoice to hear this, no doubt. Venus Reign 1190 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 I have watched (and am still watching!) sooooo many TV shows!! Would definitely suggest Westworld for your sci-fi and artificial intelligence fix. Great acting, incredible storyline, and phenomenal special effects. Rivals Game of Thrones in quality (both are HBO). Orphan Black is also an amazing sci-fi show that I will continue to watch (the last season airs this year!) Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad are classics that I absolutely adored. Black Mirror!!!! I loved it and CANNOT wait for the next season!! It's like the Twilight Zone on steroids. I'm also a big fan of the X-Files haha. The list goes on!

Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted March 30, 2017 The Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix. This has got to be one of the weirdest shows I've ever watched. If you get sick easily, I wouldn't advise watching. Drew Barrymore's character is into canabilism. It's a horror-comedy reminiscent of Desperate Housewives but more macabre. Again, not for the faint of heart. Lol.
Guest 1***otd** Report post Posted June 13, 2017 Thirteen Reasons Why. A very powerful and somewhat disturbing series about a teenage girl who committed suicide recorded 13 tapes prior to killing herself and sent them to the 13 people who played a role in her suicide. It is extremely well done.... I had to marathon watch
