contraman 5480 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 Kind of remarkable gallery of photos of women who love women here (PS: This is not erotica). Documentation of gay and lesbian history is minimal, so projects like this person's are important. My fave? "Dyke Lumber Company" from the 1920s. Jabba 18389 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks for this great link contraman. It covers a lot of ground as a pictoral essay. Got some lesbian background in my immediate family and I appreciate the study. Reason is, I love all my relatives no matter what. I love the history and sensitive appreciation & humour of the photos. I would like to share, but how should I do so without coming-off as some strange & straight relative? Y'know, an email from me saying: Hi from your straight guy cousin...here are pics of some dykes from the olden days. Enjoy! :-) Is there any politically correct way of sharing nice stuff like this? contraman 5480 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 Hmmm. That's a good question. I figure I'd say something to my friends like "I found the coolest photo gallery on line, documenting the history of lesbians in the US over the last 150 years. Wanna see it?" Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted September 22, 2012 Thanks for this great link contraman. Seconded! Is there any politically correct way of sharing nice stuff like this? "Saw this, thought you might be interested." That covers it, I think, without making any assumptions about why you think the recipient might be interested, or where you found the link. Sappho 1247 Report post Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks for the link. As probably the only dyke here I have to check it out, and will probably send the link forward to friends. My only question is: how do I tell my friends where I found this site? :D
