mahcus00 1137 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 Hello all! Happy Holidays! since its the season, I was curious what everyone considers as they're favorite christmas song or holiday song, don't mean to offend anyone. my choice: winter wonderland - bing crosby
kerrixoxo 33719 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 The lyrics to "baby it's cold outside" were discussed in one my lectures last year: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/shehim/babyitscoldoutside.html "Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some records on while I pour The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there Say, what's in this drink? - No cabs to be had out there I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell I ought to say no, no, no - Mind if I move in closer?" I still like the song even though two lines suggest getting a girl drunk to get her in the mood. Strange eh for such a seemingly nice song! lol

Philander39 3705 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 This is my favourite Christmas song. Nothing gets me in the Christmas mood then hearing this song. Not sure why since there are some depressing parts. Here is my second favourite. There are so many versions but this was one I remembered when I was a kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4uP32mnAjY
mrrnice2 157005 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 My first contribution to this thread is from probably my favorite Christmas CD, by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Once Upon a Christmas.

Zaphod9 777 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 For an incredible laugh ...Go to Google and type in "Blue Christmas Seemore Swine" This is of course an absolutely hysterical version of Blue Christmas sung in the voice of Porky Pig. Breathing may prove difficult if you're shit faced when you hear it
canuckhooker 19203 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 Well I must say I love all the traditional carols that sound great with a full choir, but my warped side, and eclectic tastes also have a couple of favourites The Pogues with the late Kristy McColl singing The Fairytale of New York And a new one that I think is great by the Dropkick Murphys- The Season's Upon Us

Athos 108589 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 I really love the Huron Carol, and Tom Jackson does a great version I also really like this version of I Saw Three Ships by Bruce Cockburn And of course, who doesn't want a hippopotamus for Christmas? (I actually find this song quite irritating, but my kids loved it)
Reddog2402 2221 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 I always love hearing The Gift, by Garth Brooks. You can listen to it here: http://www.123video.nl/playvideos.asp?MovieID=416453 For a chuckle, I always go fall back on Daddy's Beer, by Dave Gunning. It's a story of Christmas morning from the child's perspective: Daddy stays in bed all Christmas day because he's sad that Santa drank all his beer instead of the mild and cookies! Somehow, it hits close to home for me!
