Suzirider 737 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 After reading the "Why have rates been stagnant.." thread, I am curious about current Cerb stats. Someone gave a link to (I believe) a U.S. poll for clients that included annual income. Is there a Canadian version somewhere ? There is a poll for Hobbyists Average Monthly Budget for Providers, but not all of us would consider ourselves Hobbyists. Maybe comparing these polls would be interesting (to me anyway). (Income verses Budget) Anyone statistically inclined wish to refine this, be my guest. This poll is anonymous.
YoungStud 468 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 From the results so far, the stats confirm what escorts have been telling me for years. Clients are mostly middle-class and upper guys. And unless they won the lottery, they are usually middle-aged or older, because it takes awhile to work your way up to the big bucks. It's mostly the older-model pick-up trucks you see stopping by the kerb in the SW strolls because working class guys usually aren't part of the escort price range demographic. And most of the younger, fit, good-looking guys, both blue and white collar, are regularly getting hit on in the bars by women and don't need to pay for it at all. 8-)

Cato 160314 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I disagree that people only get involved in this hobby out of necessity, as if they have no options. It's a whole different universe, with different kinds of interactions and experiences. It's also rewarding to turn a commercial experience into a friendship, and it happens. This may not be the place for this discussion, though.
YoungStud 468 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I disagree that people only get involved in this hobby out of necessity, as if they have no options. It's a whole different universe, with different kinds of interactions and experiences. It's also rewarding to turn a commercial experience into a friendship, and it happens. This may not be the place for this discussion, though. I don't think anyone was saying guys who pay escorts for sex necessarily have no other options. But if they're doing it, it's because there's a need not being fulfilled by the other options. I started a long time ago, when there were quite a few options open to me, because I like a lot of sexual variety and this was a relatively easy, uncomplicated NSA way to provide part of what I needed (and need) in that area. And yes, a commercial experience can be turned into a friendship occasionally, or, at least, into a friendly commercial relationship once in a while, and rarely, though it's possible and very good when it happens, into a genuine long-term personal friendship that goes beyond the commercial aspects in a variety of ways. As for the escort experience being a whole different universe, not for me. Pretty much everything I've done with escorts I've also done with other women for free. Though I will agree the level of availability of variety is consistently much higher in the escort universe.

Of course we would also have to be in the bars for this to happen. I believe my bar days are over now. Apparently, I am also unable to tell when a woman is flirting/hitting on me. I just think they are being polite and friendly, but from a first hand womans point of view, they are hitting on me and I am completely blind to it. Go figure! coachg 388 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 I agree with Youngstud...just choosing an option that is totally uncomplicated, I have some control over in that I can check out the lady thru cerb, and there is a great variety of beautiful, sensual women out there waiting to have a great sexual experience. It is a totally win win win situation for everyone. Plus no head games and no head cases!

So you're saying that you're young, good looking and fit though? ;) I think your being hit on blindness should be a diagnosed disability like dyslexia or something along those lines, because I have that problem too. Is there any self-help books out there for that? Don't know if it's ignorance or suffering from nice-guy syndrome, but I don't know how many times I've had that pointed out to me too late after the fact and I was totally clueless the whole time. That's what's great about the SP world...you're guaranteed to know what's going to happen and being a nice guy scores you bonus points. It's win-win and everybody's happy! rickoshadows 937 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 I've learned long ago that the whole meet, greet and pickup thing is a game. The problem is that the rules are constantly changing and the very popular/charismatic are the ones writing the rule books. Oh, and they don't give them out either. So most of us stumble about, each with a different version of the rules, and we wonder why things don't go as we would like them too. Thanks to SPs, "Homey don't hav ta play dat!" SamanthaEvans 166766 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Judging from my clients, it's not about whether they could find a partner for an intimate encounter. They could, most of them, easily. It's more about finding the right person for the kind of experience they want to have without having to deal with the expectations and complications of having a "relationship" outside their marriages. The few single men I've seen seem not to have time for an ongoing relationship, but they do want company and very good sex without having to "audition" for it with a lot of dating or courtship-type things that they're not interested in. Sometimes, I think it's also that older men with disposable income, whether they're single or not, are pragmatic about doing the math. As one of my regular clients likes to point out, he can spend $500-$600 with me, once a month, and know he's going to have a very satisfying experience in all ways. I'll invest a lot of time and energy in planning in our engagement. If he dates someone, he'll spend a lot more money and may get a much lower return on his investment, so to speak. If he's looking for someone to settle down with, dating or having an affair is a good way to find out what the reality of an ongoing relationship can be like. But he's not. And so I'm a very good deal!

And so I'm a very good deal! Wow that is completely bang on! I had a half year affair once and boy was it a lot of time and energy to maintain! Booking hotel rooms, making excuses with SO - because in an affair it can't be only an hour or two all the time I discovered. It gets complicated as it goes along if feelings develop (she left her SO...even though we set 'groundrules' at the beginning...yikes!). After a few months I felt like I had two SO's and I was starting to sweat. Seeing an escort is so much simpler as Samantha says...I imagine even if I find one I regularly visit it will become friendly and very hot, but no complications...which is very nice. As to the money thing, completely true as well,in my case book a room for a night, have a meal, get supplies and you are in the hundreds of dollars. Who also knows what the other woman is willing to do sexually as well? With an SP you generally know going in exactly what you will get.

fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 In Vancouver, a significant number of young single men have a significant amount of money: certain cultures won't let them leave home until marriage, they work the family biz, a marriage may be arranged or at least encouraged, etc. Usually generous & polite, but they can't necessarily pursue girlfriends outside of their culture: this is a quick & easy way to satisfy curiosity and attraction without upsetting the family. Also, the same reasons apply: in & out in a short period of time, know what they are getting, a different girl every week, fulfill an older woman fantasy, no pressure, no expectations, no morning after awkwardness. A young man's dream, really.
