jane303437 494 Report post Posted January 20, 2013 Just watching a compelling documentary on Aboriginal issues in Canada... 8TH FIRE is a journey through Aboriginal country showing you why we need to fix Canada's 500 year-old relationship with Indigenous peoples; a relationship mired in colonialism, conflict and denial. It examines prejudice, stereotypes, misunderstandings, and encounters with an impressive new generation of Aboriginal Canadians who are reclaiming both their culture and their confidence. I encourage anyone interested to have a look at this 4 part series. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Education is key. http://www.cbc.ca/doczone/8thfire//2011/11/tv-series-8th-fire.html
Cowboy kenny 50799 Report post Posted January 20, 2013 I've been watching ths series the past two weeks and look forward to more. It's very informative doing a great job of breaking down barriers and misconceptions, both good and bad about ourselves as well as first nations people.
