Interesting even with the discount it isn't really cheaper to take the train in some cases (maybe shorter trips make more sense) if you take into account the time it takes to get to and from your destination and the amount of money you will spend during your trip it's actually cheaper to fly.

 

Sad really, I took the train a lot as a kid and I still enjoy taking the train from time to time, but it isn't to save money.

i used to take the Canadian twicea month to come home and I really enjoyed it. Got picked up at 12:00 a.m and retired to my cabinette and woke up @ 9:00 am and had breakfast which was always first rate and enjoyed fast 48 hour visit to Sudbury and then go back onto the train and returned to where I was living. I would love taking the Sudbury Toronto run and enjoy the bar car and playing cards for an afternoon.
