mister_crufty 4891 Report post Posted February 12, 2013 And for a little Canadian content, the insanely talented Walk off the Earth, doing a version of Adele's Someone Like You. Check out their other stuff, they just released an originals album on itunes (I don't know them personally or professionally, I just think they are worth a plug as I think they still have day jobs): Walk Off the Earth is absolutely ridiculous...I love their version of Little Boxes too. Such a talented group.

Times change and there's always my favorite song de jour but time and again i always come back to some of my old friends like this classic by Steve Earle
ajd20000 655 Report post Posted February 17, 2013 Here's mine. Chokes me up every time: The Pogues performing "And the Band Played Waltzing Mathilda". Youtube video . I'm not Australian, and not old enough to remember the First World War, but you don't have to be to be affected by this song. There's even a synergistic effect if you have seen Peter Weir's film Gallipoli (with added Mel Gibson bonus).

FootFetishTess 1261 Report post Posted February 20, 2013 I love "At Last". :-D As for goosebumps... "Never Let Me Go" by Florence + the Machine. Look it up on youtube if you haven't heard it. The instrumentals are lush and rich, her voice is so evocative, and her lyrics... Sucide as redemption, or a different kind of surrender? Gives me shivers! Wolf Knight 29667 Report post Posted April 1, 2013 Well, saw this thread and thought I'd contribute. I used to be a hard ass and in fact for years I was often refered to as being dead inside. I always just felt I was stoic, oh well. A few years ago my daughter was born and a switch was flipped in me and now I get goosebumps and even choaked up over all kinds of stuff. So now there are many songs that have an effect on me. Although I'm not much of a country fan, "Remember When" by Alan Jackson has given me goosebumps. Another is, "Kathy's Song" by Simon and Garfunkel it's a beautiful love song and my most favorite song to play and sing. Another is "Fields of Gold" by Sting Another is a cover, "Time after time" Eva Cassidy but I find alot of stuff by Eva haunting maybe cause she's gone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SMznNlfLXP4 The last one for this post comes from the dad in me so don't laugh but it's "Butterfly fiy away" by Miley Cyrus (I danced with my daughter so many times to this song)
Motorbykerider 4754 Report post Posted November 2, 2013 Great thread. It's been a while since I have experienced goose bumps for any song. Not sure why. Years ago it was quite frequent. Maybe because music was less accessible? Today we are bombarded with content and choices. When was the last time you bought a whole album/CD and listened to it from start to finish? Not it seems it's just the hit from hundreds of bands. Genesis, Yes, Rush, Gabriel and Queen were constantly giving me the bumps. The last time I got them were for this band, but only this one song, and it's a cover. Somebody that i used to know [Walk off the Earth]
