Hector17 9215 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 If it is just to try it out, and he is healthy, your friends' Dr will likely just give him some samples. Prescriptions for this , for healthy candidates, are basically given on request.
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 Thru a pharmacy with a doctor's prescription Selling pharmaceuticals without a prescription is illegal On another note have you given l-argentine a try. It is not RX, helps circulation and for some people like me does the trick...and much cheaper than viagara Can buy it at GNC RG Additional Comments: If it is just to try it out, and he is healthy, your friends' Dr will likely just give him some samples. Prescriptions for this , for healthy candidates, are basically given on request. Remember doctor has to also look at patient's family health history My family has a history of stroke, so viagara is contra indicated even though I have'nt had a stroke RG

SamanthaEvans 166767 Report post Posted February 26, 2013 Please don't mess around! If you, or your friend, are experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED), you really do need to see a doctor. ED is often a symptom of a significant medical problem such as diabetes or cardio-vascular disease. It can also be a side effect of some kinds of medication, such as drugs for high blood pressure or depression. If you have a health problem, you need to address it before you start taking a drug that is intended to have a significant, albeit temporary, effect on your vascular system. Most people imagine that ED is a natural part of aging, but this isn't exactly correct. While all men experience occasional problems with erections at some point in their lives, and while many men report that the frequency with which they have erections gradually diminishes as they age, if we were not so sedentary, got much more exercise and had far healthier diets, there would be a much lower incidence of ED generally. If you're worried about what your doctor may think if you ask for a prescription for Viagra or another drug, maybe you need to see a doctor with whom you can feel more at ease. If your concern is that the doctor may mention this to your partner, you definitely need to find a doctor who respects your confidentiality. Most do! Trust me, your doctor has seen many men who are younger, better looking and in better physical condition than you are who ask about this medication. In fact, seeking a prescription of this kind is one of the most common reasons for a man to see his doctor. One of my long-time clients is in his early 60s. About 18 months ago, after experiencing an irregular heart rate, he had quadruple bypass surgery. His doctor wouldn't prescribe Viagra for him for a year because of the potential strain the drug could pose for his cardio-vascular system. During that year, he changed his diet, got into a great exercise routine and lost 75 pounds. Viagra is now working magnificently for him. :icon_wink: Don't take chances. Get a check-up!
canuckhooker 19203 Report post Posted February 26, 2013 Quite seriously, if for some reason you (or your friend, wink, wink) are unwilling to go to see your family doctor, then there are plenty of clinics you can use fairly anonymously. I know for a fact that if you go to Appletree, they have certain Doctors they will refer you to in their clinics for these problems.. If you are over a certain age, and are healthy, they have no problem giving you a prescription, and maybe even a couple of samples to get you going. If you feel you need it, they don't judge, and are more then willing to help.
Meg O'Ryan 266444 Report post Posted February 26, 2013 It always amazes me when people will not seek medical advice because of their fear of being judged. Quite frankly, your doctor doesn't really give a damn. He/she is there to help you with any and all health issues which are kept confidential.
ottanon 2930 Report post Posted February 26, 2013 What ever you do, do not buy off the internet. You never know what is mixed in with it. A doctor will give you samples and you can get a prescription no problem. Dont be shy, there are lots of men that need them. Its nothing to be ashamed about. You might also want to look into cialis.
Jabba 18389 Report post Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) Ya - I agree with the folks who advise caution! Don't go frigging around with herbs & medication without knowing your own chemistry. Just because an herb or over the counter thing is available, are you going to swallow it 'cuz someone says it's good for you? I'm tempted even as I read this, but somehow, I have a lick of common sense. Don't follow someone's advice without some proof and acceptance from a source who has some study stats. Your Doc can help you figure it out. Talk out your beliefs & what you've read to your practitioner if you have trust. Don't go exploring in the dark guys. Guest Miss Jane TG Report post Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) There are to components for this thread, Safety and legality. For safety, yes it prudent to seek a physician input to ensure that you have no underlying condition that would expose you to the undesirable side effects. The legality is a secondary issue that reflects your own beliefs about the logical background of the law. There are many laws passed on daily basis by legislators in different parts of the world that either make no sense in isolation or inconsistent by comparison. roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 Here's an example of why to get Viagra from a pharmacy after getting a prescription from your doctor. If you don't buy from a pharmacy with a prescription, you may not be buying Viagra or Cialis, and also putting your health in jeopardy http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2013/23209a-eng.php RG
Guest Miss Jane TG Report post Posted February 27, 2013 The issue of safety of any medication and the person's choice to take it with or without medical advice is one that is made individually based on each one's assessment of his own situation. While the law might potentially limit our personal choices, it could be either challenged or the person affected might choose to move somewhere else where the law is less stringent. I don't see Viagra or Cialis as serious medications. They are generally safe except for select group of individuals who have, for example, some forms of cardiovascular diseases. In fact, they are used very frequently these days by both younger and older age groups. All medications have side effects. It might be a bit of a surprise just to read about the side effects of Tylenol or Ibuprofen for example. Sex, in itself, if you may consider it as a form of therapy, could lead to serious side effects for those with advanced cardiovascular diseases. Drug companies, in general, tend to list enormous lists of side effects just to ensure that they covered medico-legally. Generally speaking one might say that it is safer to follow the textbook and seek physician advice to start such medication (Viagra, Cialis etc.), which is true, but it is not unreasonable for those with no pre-existing comorbidities not to seek such an advice if they are well informed. There is also the person's choice that must be taken into account as well. Lets say after a consultation with the physician, he/she was of the opinion that such medication could lead to undesirable side effects while the person involved decided that he is willing to take the risks regardless. Then who will make the final decision for him? The law as it stands allow selling and buying Viagra as long as it is made with a physician prescription. P.S. The above is merely an opinion and doesn't constitute by any means a professional advice.

Nereus 180 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 As many members have already said, go to your family doctor or at least a doctor, there are many other medical conditions that must also be taken into consideration before prescribing any medication. Most family doctors will give you a sample pack. These types of medication are prescription medication and must be filled at a licensed pharmacy.
