Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 Creepy guy indeed! Most guys like this would pretend to be a macho only behind a keyboard. On another note, not sure the reason behind the Toronto Sun's need to post all the Rates and Income. To me, these are highly unnecessary.

Nathalie L 112512 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 On another note, not sure the reason behind the Toronto Sun's need to post all the Rates and Income. To me, these are highly unnecessary. I completely agree, but it's the Toronto Sun and highly sensationalized. Her income demonstrates that she makes a lot more than the average Canadian which might shock a lot of people. The fact that she's saving up for a condo and paying off school simply reinforces how 'intelligent' she is. Had she been using that money to support her children they might have wondered whether she was really doing it by choice... Next thing they'll run a story of whether escorts pay their taxes... tis' that time of year after all --sigh-- On another note, I'm happy the situation worked out for her.
Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 So true!! Sad sad sad indeed! That poor lady' date=' I hope this turns out in her favor, can she not in turn have him charged...then sued??[/quote'] To me, this is " blackmailing" and she would probably have the option of pressing charge and suing this man. But I am no expert in legal matters, so I'd better leave this for someone more familiar with the laws to answer.
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted February 27, 2013 Interesting story. One positive view of the profession when an escort using the escorting money to further her education. Kate has done nothing illegal as an independent escort and I agree that likely she can take the creep to court for blackmail, though I am no lawyer either. On another note I hope that Kate reads this and pay a visit to Ottawa sometimes soon. I would love to see her.

On another note, not sure the reason behind the Toronto Sun's need to post all the Rates and Income. To me, these are highly unnecessary. I was about to say that. all it does is end up getting some readers to think that she was the one extorting a non refundable fee from him that she refused to return even after not providing services. I am not sure what point the reporter had to include that monthly income, or whatever as well. That the sp could have afforded to send the money back, so the pursuit of contacting LE was based on principle not because she'd already spent the money and couldn't return it? kerrixoxo 33719 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 It wouldn't be worth it to file a claim against someone who lives with their mother (probably no tangible assets/income) for that amount in a different province (legal fees would probably be more than what would be sought after and have to find someone who practices in that province or find someone who is in Ontario who can file a claim in that province). I do agree with what lucky me and fortunateone had said about the income/rates: completely not necessary and it makes it look like she was trying to extort him :(

Yes, absolutely. It's got nothing to to with the point of the story. I suppose her rates may well be in the public domain, but I have to wonder why she decided to share her monthly budget with a journalist. Obviously it's her life and she can do what she likes with it, but... it seems odd.

Her rates are public domain, but how many appointments she books per month as well as her expenses definitely aren't. Oh well... c'est la vie. I can't say I'm entirely surprised The Sun wanted to know.
roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 I'm wondering why the police don't lay charges....forget suing, it's too long and drawn out an affair. But isn't extortion illegal? As for living with mommy maybe he has lots of money, could be living off her dime...and saving his money. As for posting the lady's rates/expenses well rates are public but only she would know her expenses so my guess she provided them to the Sun. BTW her rates don't seem unreasonable or over inflated and I hope she makes good on her dream of being a doctor RG
Meaghan McLeod 179664 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 I fiind that when it comes to the police being involved in disputes in this business they don't really do much. Occasionally you get one who pays lip service and claims to want to help. At the end of the day though, they seem to think that you should not be in this business and if things fuck up, well, you brought it on yourself. They don't protect us, help us etc. We have to take care of the situation ourselves.

I am glad also that she's using the income to further her education, in this case, in her medical training. Let's hope that she'll stay the course and finish her training - we all know that medical doctors are in short supply.

Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted March 1, 2013 To all the guys who complain about screening practices.......people like this loon is why we do it :) Sorry, ran out of rep points to give. I agree, and I never complain about going through the screening procedures that a SP sets. Afterall, she is meeting a total stranger and she needs to take the necessary precautions.
