Guest C*****tte Report post Posted December 22, 2013 They are continuing the study until the middle of January. In light of the recent SCC decision I think this is a discrete way to let your voice be heard as a client.

fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted October 4, 2014 I thought the study results should be posted here http://www.understandingsexwork.com/sites/default/files/uploads/Team%20Grant%20Working%20Paper%201%20CBenoit%20et%20al%20%20September%2018%202014.pdf This working paper is an early output from a national research program that involves five interconnected studies. These studies have examined the perspectives and experiences of each of the following: 1) those who sell sexual services, 2) intimate partners of workers, 3) those who buy sexual service, 4) those who manage the services, and 5) those involved in regulating the industry or providing health and social services. Further information about the research program is available at http://www.understandingsexwork.com. The ultimate goal of the project is to broaden the knowledge base relative to the sexual service industry in Canada and to produce knowledge that can usefully inform policies and practices aimed at improving the safety and health of all involved in the industry. This paper is a first step in fulfilling that mandate. But in order for us to reach our goal of broadening the knowledge base, we need to engage a wide network of collaborators (people in the industry, policymakers, providers of health and social services, and the community at large) in the process of reflecting on and understanding the emerging picture of the Canadian sex industry. To start that process, we are hosting an international symposium and workshop in Ottawa on September 22-23, 2014. Whether you are able to participate in those events or not, we welcome your feedback related to the data presented in this paper. Please visit http://www.understandingsexwork.com/contact to find ways to send comments to us.
SexSafetySecurity 1145 Report post Posted November 17, 2014 Just a quick update on the study results: We presented many of the results during the hearings relating to Bill .... Given the potential impact of the new laws we felt that spending our time writing submissions to the various committees and presenting the results to the committees, to mainstream media and to various interest groups was the best use of our time. We have begun to generate targeted results reports for sex industry organizations, policy makers, educators police and health care providers. These are not public documents but they are designed to provide an empirical context for key decision makers to develop appropriate responses/strategies relating to the new laws (passed under ...). Some of the preliminary (descriptive) findings from the research were presented at an international symposium in Ottawa in October and can be found in the summary report for the larger Team Grant (linked above) We will be releasing a larger project-specific summary report in the next month. We will post a link to the document when we make the document public. A short article will appear in the next edition of Research for Sex Work that details some of our key findings with respect to client-........ relations and the likely impact of .... We have about 40 articles outlined and we will be spending the next year completing them. As they are finalized we will be providing links on the sexsafetysecurity.ca web site.
