Guest K***e D****ls Report post Posted January 14, 2015 I've been on an 80's heavy metal kick for the past two weeks. Bands specifically like Twisted Sister and Poison, but I'm also really digging the band Steel Panther who seem to parody all of the stereotypical excess of 80's heavy metal. I know she's currently a train wreck (it's sad, to be completely honest), but Miley Cyrus did a cover of Poison's 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' and it's excellent. I've been really into old Miley stuff. She did some youtube videos called The Backyard Sessions and she was just so gorgeous. Her talent is unparalleled. She covers Dolly's 'Jolene' and it's mesmerizing. This gang banger thing she has going on now? No comment. And she covers Bob Dylan's 'You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go' and again, just gorgeous and raw and incredible:

I don't know how many times I gouged "TS" into the wooden topped desks of my local social indoctrination scheme they called school!

oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted January 16, 2015 Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars I lovvvve Bruno Mars! Exceptional yes, but when I first heard it I thought it was Chromeo. The guy's a chameleon....he fooled me into thinking that The Police were back together when I first heard Locked Out of Heaven.

oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted January 29, 2015 Bonus points for identifying the two Star Trek (original) characters in this song. How can you not like a song which starts out with: "I am angry I am ill and I'm as ugly as sin My irritability keeps me alive and kicking" I used to be a huge Leonard Cohen fan, then I graduated to Magazine. Posers think Joy Division is post punk. OMG, I forgot about this song......how times have changed..... it has the lyrics: "I will drug you and fcuk you" I have no excuse for this song, it is what it is A post-punk keyboard masterpiece:
