SamanthaEvans 166767 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Some SPs do have an assistant who takes their bookings, posts their ads and things like that. I wouldn't say that it's common, but it's also not unheard-of. Some prospective clients don't mind, but others want to speak to the lady herself. If you're not feeling comfortable with the way things have been handled so far, you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a lady who doesn't have an assistant. EmilyRushton 253372 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Sp's with an assistant are usually upfront about having one in their ads and on there website. If you have only communicated via text you have no idea if it is man or a women you are corresponding with, which should make one question things. If a lady is not upfront about having a secretary prior to you contacting her, what else is she not being upfront about?
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 I used to have one when I first started out after I worked for an agency for 3 months. She worked for me when I was completely independent after an agency she answered the phones for closed their business and I knew her through other people. She placed ads, answered the phone etc. I felt at the time, I still needed the support as a new SP because I was not too familiar in answering the phone. Sometimes it was an advantage to have one because I find a lot of potential appts are missed when you're on an actual encounter. I'm still having that problem. LOL. Or when 3 people call you at once and all want the same time. When I had one, I did an amazing amount of business but I am no longer a high volume escort and have enough experience to handle things on my own now. The SP you contacted may be fairly new to the business and needs that type of support. Don't be alarmed as she probably realizes she needs some assistance. If the person answering the phone is skilled, no one calling should have a problem and will notice that their inquiries will be answered in a professional and friendly manner. This will speak volumes about the SP and how she runs her business. :)
Kyra.Graves 23779 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 I use an assistant when I am travelling, it's a decision I have made for the safety and discretion of my clients. I travel between Canada and the US quite often and I feel it's in the best interest of my dates to not have their information on me at the time of my crossing. As I don't really have an interest in wiping my hard drive every time I cross a border I prefer not to travel with as little information as possible on me and hand the scheduling to someone else. Even if I am travelling in Canada I may not be travelling direct, plans may change when I'm already at a destination, etc. I just find it better to be prepared for anything and having an assistant allows me that peace of mind and also allows my clients to rest assured I am doing the best I can to protect their privacy. This certainly is not what every lady does and I'm not saying it's what they should do, it's the model that works for me and that's why I've opted for it. Many of the clients I have met are happy with it and it helps them to feel comfortable with meeting me so they happily deal with my assistant. They know if they need to reach me directly they can but that when I am travelling I may not get back to them in a timely manner as I do not always have access to a computer. Each lady has different needs and each client will as well, that's why there are always various options to choose from and it's important to find what works for you. :) Just so you don't think I'm being totally paranoid: http://rabble.ca/news/2013/04/sexism-border-personal-account
Phlipspecial69 1449 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 thank you for your feedback. i tried calling back again but no answer and this SP has been here before , a few times with great reviews under a different alias than now. Thats why it was a surprise to me this time around, i guess i just feel comfortable talking to atleast someone to confirm details. the next text now reads please provide your full name and email address and please have ID when you come for appointment. i understand the need for screening clients for safety reasons, i just presumed before you meet one would confirm by speaking to eachother on phone. anywayd thanks again for feedback, have a wonderful day Cheers
manitoba 2758 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 I have never knowingly come across this but think it would be a good idea. One admin assistant could handle calls for several ladies and even if all the assistant did reject the obvious waste of timers and allow the lady to call back it would eliminate a lot of the frustration that I have had in the past making bookings. Ladies how about it? Will you run your business like a business?
Guest ***nno**n*** Report post Posted April 8, 2013 I don't travel so my perspective is a bit different. For me I find it very important to take calls, emails and texts personally because i want to know about the person I will be seeing. It also helps to screen potential clients because you can tell a lot about a person by how they write. If someone can't put 3 words together correctly it's a big indication that I may not want to have that person over. On the flip side, by being able to communicate directly you can learn what they like and dislike. I then really look forward to meeting them, and having them return. For different ladies i can definitely see a benefit to having one, or sharing. I am happy to do without. Shannon
Guest s*r***a**9 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Shannon - I'd be willing to be your secretary. No need to pay me cash for my work. I'm sure we could come to a mutual arrangement though ;)
4nbstd 400 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Shannon - I'd be willing to be your secretary. No need to pay me cash for my work. I'm sure we could come to a mutual arrangement though ;) I once knew a girl who sold cakes to restaurants in Ottawa, and I let her use my kitchen since our patissier demanded top of the line equipments and we got him everything a baker would dream of, and she paid me with cakes for using my kitchen. SamanthaEvans 166767 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 One admin assistant could handle calls for several ladies and even if all the assistant did reject the obvious waste of timers and allow the lady to call back it would eliminate a lot of the frustration that I have had in the past making bookings. Ladies how about it? Will you run your business like a business? I did consider hiring an assistant at one point, not long after I returned to Vancouver. I was seeing more clients then than I do now and I thought it might be helpful to have someone take my calls, keep my schedule up to date, and so on. Finding the time to interview people and be sure I had the person who would really understand the way I work was just too much, in the end, and so I didn't do it. I later learned about problems other ladies had had with assistants they'd hired. If the assistant worked for more than one companion, sometimes it seemed that they succumbed to the temptation, or were even paid extra, to funnel prospective clients toward one lady even if they'd initially responded to a different lady's advertisement. In one case, when the companion decided she no longer needed an assistant, the one she had tried to blackmail her using information about her, her clients and the way she worked. That last story is what convinced me not to take on a secretary. Confidentiality is of such high importance to me that I can't imagine having someone else know all the details about my work and the gentlemen who visit me. I do think that it makes a lot of sense for a travelling lady to have this kind of support, however. Not only does it help her shield her clients' privacy, but the assistant is also a back-up for her safety, which is particularly important when she's away from home. The ladies who tour all the time work incredibly hard, planning travel, arranging for bookings, dealing with the hassles that are inevitably involved. Having some extra help with that could be a wonderful thing! manitoba, your remark about running a business like a business is a little off-key, to me. I know that I do that very well and that the presence or absence of a secretary or personal assistant has nothing to do with my professionalism or success. My clients know that I am the only one who will know their personal details and that I will gear our encounters to fit them, specifically. The personal touch is a significant part of what they expect from me and I'm happy to provide it. Phlipspecial69, I think it is reasonable for you to expect to have a phone conversation with the SP before you supply these details, if that's what would be most comfortable for you. That said, many of the men who contact me provide their real-time information in their first e-mail to me. Their willingness to be open and trusting earns them significant bonus points with me! Guest ***nno**n*** Report post Posted April 9, 2013 Might be a tad distracting having a sexy man around. ;-) If it's "duties as assigned" you got yourself a deal lol. manitoba 2758 Report post Posted April 9, 2013 I'd always like to talk to the lady directly as well before making an appointment but just feel that with the numerous texts, emails, calls that I expect every SP gets that having a sectary or admin assistant to screen out the obvious wast of timers, keep voice mail boxes empty enough to accept my call, etc would benefit both of us. The Sp by allowing her to only talk to potential customers and me as a potential customer to actually get to talk to the lady.
manitoba 2758 Report post Posted April 14, 2013 ........ manitoba, your remark about running a business like a business is a little off-key, to me. ........ My remark about being a business has to do with the difficulties I have had in actually making contact with several SPs in Winnipeg. I have left numerous messages, emails and texts, always polite never resending quickly enough to be even remotely considered harassment ( If I leave a message, text or email and don't get a response I don't recall until next day or later if at all). I leave contact information including the fact that calling anytime and leaving a message is OK. Many times phones are unanswered, voice mail is full etc. An admin assistant would help a lot with some of these issues for some ladies. When the ladies don't respond, even to say that they are currently unavailable or not taking new clients I now assume that they are not serious about the business and strike them off my list of people to call. I run a consulting business that is somewhat like that of an SP in that I sell my time and expertise. Usually I sell longer blocks of time ( days or months at a single assignment) than hourly but I would never leave a potential client with no response. If I cannot help them I usually have the name and number of a colleague who can help. If I cannot help then I at least say so directly to the potential client. Vastly different circumstances I realize but still the bottom line in any business is client service and ignoring a potential client is not good customer service. roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted April 14, 2013 My opinion, for whatever it's worth, is whatever works for the lady is normal. If her business requires a personal assistant (or secretary), then that is normal. If the lady doesn't require a personal assistant, then that too is normal. She chose her business practice because she knows her business better than anyone else. Likewise, some ladies require only a phone call or text to make an appointment, others, emails with verification/screening information. Normal is a subjective term. Work with what the lady uses as her business practice, because that is what works for her. A morning rambling RG
