Police were called to a Collingwood-area home Thursday afternoon for a man wearing "an ill-fitting thong" while out in his garden. "If an individual is wearing a properly placed thong ... everything would be where it's supposed to be, otherwise it could fall into the realm of indecent exposure," Huronia West OPP Const. Mark Kinney said. Well, everything was not where it was supposed to be. "OK, no shirt. No pants," Kinney said. "There's something there. Whoa!" However, Kinney said there has to be intent to commit indecent exposure, which police determined was not the case. The man was surprised that police showed up, however, after a neighbour had called to file a complaint around 2 p.m. "I think he was apologetic," Kinney said. "His intent was not to ... make people gawk, look or whatever." The man, whom police described as being in his 50s and a resident of Conc. 7 Nottawasaga, was not charged, but rather urged to go inside and select "more suitable clothing." A few years ago, Kinney said local police received a complaint about a man wearing a strategically placed sock at a provincial park. While that attire could be acceptable in some places outside the park, the constable said provincial parks, such as Wasaga Beach, are governed by different legislation. In that case, officers arrived and told the man that his sock suit was not acceptable at the family park. The man disagreed and tried to flee from police. He was arrested in the water, and faced several charges, including flight from police and resisting arrest.
