I don't live in the prairies....I live in the Maritimes.......... Am I missing something? My cell phone does the same thing. My text messages will always show a time in the middle of the night. Once in there, go to Edit Options. Once in there scroll down about 3/4 of the way and you will see Date & Time options. There you can select Time zone.
