BigCountry1980 141 Report post Posted June 10, 2013 Mods please delete this if you believe it to be inappropriate. Hello ladies i am a amateur photographer in the belleville area who will help any of you out who would like to do a shoot for picture sets for your profile and promotional pics. I have noticed that the majority of the pics are no offense, but of a lower quality taking with cell phones and bad lighting. I am offering this service for free for the reasons of i like to shoot and its great practice for me so why not help people out in the process. I will supply my time camera equiptment and any post production editing necessary. The rest will be up to you. If you would like to discuss it any further please feel free to pm me on the forum with any questions or concerns you might have. Cheers
piano8950 32577 Report post Posted June 10, 2013 I know that you've posted this with all good intentions, but here are a few problems with what you're providing. You're somewhat new here, and from the posts that I've read, you seem like an ordinary, helpful guy, but there are evil, vile, and dangerous men out there that can act the same way. Offering to take someone's pictures in an industry that revolves around privacy is sketchy at best. You've admitted that you're an amateur photographer. Being a good photographer is not about taking pretty pictures. Its an entire experience, and if you're taking one of the boudoir nature, then it matters so much more that you are well trained in providing a service that makes the model comfortable. Men have a disadvantage in the boudoir photography industry for obvious reasons, but word spreads if a certain individual is exceptional at his work, and has a completely professional approach that is completely opposite from giving off a creeper "I just want to see you naked" vibe. I'm not sure of what your level of experience is (so sorry if I've sounded presumptuous), but assuming you're giving this service for free, and like you said, you're doing this for practice, you're better off starting elsewhere. ModelMayhem.com is a valuable resource for instances like this, but keep in mind that models there will charge you for modeling if you don't already have a decent portfolio. It took me years of experience before I found myself comfortable with the idea of boudoir photography, and more time since then to actually charge for it. I'd recommend easing into it with people that are in front of a camera for a living before moving onto civilians (for lack of a better word)
BigCountry1980 141 Report post Posted June 10, 2013 No worries my friend it takes a lot to offend me :) . You have very valid points which are true to the fact. But honestly meeting with me would be no different then meeting with any other person in their line of work. In fact i have no issue with the escort bring an escort to the shoot. I only call myself an amateur because of the fact its not my full time professional job. I offer this service for free just plain and simple as i stated before just a general love of shooting and lack of the girls having quality pictures to display. I wouldn't turn down money but im not asking for it. When i am approached to do events trust me i charge :) As for being a creeper i enjoy just doing head shots and portraits nudity is not my decision or a request, im comfortable to any aspect the model is though. Weather you have been shooting for 1 year or 30 if your not still learning you have just given up. Photography is an endless art with infinite possibilities. Anyway i see your point and i though i was just trying to be helpful is all, when your passionate about something why not share it. I am a registered photographer on ModelMayhem with a decent background i would just rather keep that aspect on a private basis. Maybe i opened a can of worms with this offer lol. Thanks for your comment though
