Surf_Nazis_Must_Die 8958 Report post Posted July 13, 2013 Depending on my mood, I can be a real sucker for a sad song. I'm curious to know which songs about love, loss, or whatever, strike a chord with my fellow Cerb-ites Come on, don't be shy! ;) I recently saw Sebastian Bach in concert, and it reminded me how much I enjoy Skid Row's I Remember You

Cleo Catra 178382 Report post Posted July 14, 2013 Leonard Cohen - If It Be Your Will 'Mad World', originally by Tears for Fears, which I love, but this cover by Gary Jules just kills me Tori Amos, 'Me and a Gun'. I saw her perform this one, at a smaller venue in Toronto, and I was in the front row. It was chillingly mesmerizing, I think the entire audience was brought to tears. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xjlWFjX1Yw

canuckhooker 19203 Report post Posted July 14, 2013 This is a weird one but I cannot listen to this while driving, it triggers powerful emotion and memories. Turn the page Metallica I think Bob Seger's original version of this song is a little more emotional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAbY2cmEsS0 Additional Comments: I think Andy Prieboy's original version of is one that always gets me. His voice with that of Johnette Napolitano (who did the more popular version with Concrete Blonde) really makes it a hauntingly beautiful tune. It is based on a sad but true story of a young woman who has AIDS and decides to end her life on her own terms. (It was written in the 80's when advances in treatment of HIV had not been made, and getting AIDS was a sentence to a slow painful death)

Luckyme 41401 Report post Posted July 14, 2013 Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton came out around when my dad passed away and it has reminded me of him ever since. That's a beautiful and sad song - he missed his son who died tragically and it shows his emotion.
