With escorting costs, rent, utilities I'm already up to almost 3000$ a month. Seeing how I barely make 1000$ a week escorting (I see one client a day max), a second place would cut into the money I make outside of escorting. I take incalls in my home... I also require either a listed contact number or reference... it appears to do an amazing job of keeping the "idiots" away. I have yet to have any problems.. or pop ins. I might find a way to block the living so they don't roam around during a session. Sometimes they are quick. I have been thinking a 2 bedroom apartment would be ideal work bedroom and private bedroom. I screen my calls as much as I can I get a name and a contact number I can reach them on. and I do not give directions until they are in a close intersection to my location. which is what I was doing with hotels. and just like any regular unannouced pop-in I do not answer the door and my building has a rent-a-cop. So I was concerned if my home would be acceptable but after just giving it ago it was worth wild. and financial cost seems so much more realistic ads, work phone. I was thinking 3 clients a week keep my home my home and money in for bills and life. Plus with out the stress of wondering where am i getting money to book a hotel. and also how am i travelling to the hotel. it was releaved plus I am more relaxed entertaining in my own home. There are pros and cons to working out of your home, but basically it depends on whether you have an apartment or house and what kind of area of town you're in, what kind of hours you keep and the types of visitors who entertain including those who have a habit of showing up unannounced. There are so many factors to consider. I can certainly tell you what and what not to do in order to keep yourself as safe and secure as possible as well. fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted September 20, 2009 There are a few things to watch out for, but worry about clients who have your address info and drop bys are certainly not any of them lol. Similar to above, I have been working incalls from home for 8 years and nothing untoward has ever happened. I do not require references, I do accept block calls and payphone calls with zero incidents. However, I require phone conversation to screen my visitors and do not see just anyone who calls. You limit the address info that you provide. Cross streets first, then building address, then buzzer (good if you have a door camera) when they are at the building and apt # when they have buzzed. This discourages address collectors. Address collectors are not the sort of problem you would think they are, btw, since they don't get your apt or buzzer it is not too much to be concerned about. Houses and townhouses would be a mistake. Your neighbours will notice short term visitors and suspect drug dealing. You do not want to draw attention to yourself. Apartments, especially high rises, with working residents work the best. These folks tend to be out during the day so will not notice traffic. Never ever go down to greet people in the lobby. So do not choose a building with a concierge or access only. Cannot believe the number of reviews I have read where the same sp or guy goes to meet clients in the lobby and bring them to the apt. Do that 6-10 times a day 7 days a week and see if someone doesn't notice lol. If you do choose to work from home, never tell anyone that you live there. It is just where you work. 2 bedrooms are best cuz you just have the room all set up and ready to go; and since you are already there, last minute appts are really easy to set up. You can easily see 7-10 people a week, if you want, without anyone really noticing, provided you balance the days and time appropriately. When you choose an apt keep in mind how far you are from stairs and elevator, what sort of entry system is out front (speakers are bad; phone style is good), parking, ask about neighbours to see if there are any retired folks who will be home all day, or if they are M-F day time working people. Block off with screens or curtains any private areas; use the room that is closest to the front door. Using the main bedroom if it has an ensuite is ideal. They have no business looking into or having access to the other areas of the apartment. If you are in a 2 bedroom, the cats can stay in the other room if necessary. I do have to get a screen right now to block off the living room and also keep the cats in there when mommy is busy working. I have a 1 bedroom in a high rise building and my floor is very quiet. Plus the cats know when someone is in the hallway they are very good at screening clients. I trust their instincts just as much as my own. There is no elderly on my floor mostly people who work during the weekdays and some weekends and children who are off to school. I am saving up for a 2 bedroom apartment for now I will make my current apartment work for calls. I could install my own security camera but I think I will save that for my move and also a door bell the wireless one. That would be in my hallway they make the security cameras in the most interesting items so I do not think the building would notice I have one. I could look around for spy equipment or lorex security equipment. When I was booking hotels I would talk with them find out what time they would like and also let them know my rate for the time. I wouldn't go into major details of services I would keep it simple to getting them to answer questions and me to reinforce my boundaries. I think I have an idea of how I can handle entertaining clients in my home I do not need a lot of clients a week but I do want the right client. but the more I look at the benefits from working from home I see it will be more worth it then running around trying to get a hotel or even rent another apartment. Buildings with front desk security from visiting them for outcalls or even hotels with key access I even feel uncomfortable going to them so I wouldn't want to make myself feel uncomfortable having a client coming to see me With my experience being with agencies who offer in-calls they seem to take any 2 bedroom apartment so my own home would do just fine.
