Guilty pleasure films

Great expectations is my number one cheese ball movie.

and I love Sweet November.

Just to finish my comment which got cut off, yes Sweet November was excellent...with a strong life and death sense of reality to it...more, I think, than just your average tear jerker...

I never really feel guilty about liking the movies I like. I love lots of movies that are cheesy and corny, but I don't really feel embarassed about liking them.

I guess a lot of people make fun of me for liking/owning the DVD of 'Tank Girl'. But I shrug it off. It's probably the most 90s movie ever made.

I can't believe I forgot to mention one of my all time fav's. Just give me a rainy day, a bowl of greasy popcorn and a copy of Show Girls, and I'm good for the rest of the day. Mmmmm Elizabeth Berkley...

Chocolat, total chick flick but I end up soo hungry at the end! Great story as well about rebellion and defying society's conforms.

Zoolander, stupidest movie ever but I have tears from laughing so hard.

If we're talking cheese, I wouldn't say a guilty pleasure, because I boast it loud and proud as an ATF, Top Gun. Best movie ever. You can be my wing man anytime ;)

City of Angels is indeed a guilty pleasure. Winds of desire is a masterpiece!

One gotta love one's guilty pleasure, and enjoy the other ones, too!

Best,

toine

For Wim Wenders fans his early, but hard to find, "Alice in the Cities" is not to be missed -- strangely enchanting for me ever since I first saw it at a ConcordiaUniversity film series back in the 1970s!

Alice in den Städten (Alice in the Cities) (1974)

Two of my guilty pleasure movies would be The Notebook and Drive. There's a common theme here ;).

The Godfather I, II and III.

Even if this post is over 7 year old, It's worth mentioning how the "The Godfather" should NEVER be categorized as a guilty pleasure!

Real guilty pleasures are movies like "Battlefield Earth" (2000) for being unintentionally hilarious or "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" for being relaxing while maintaining the spirit of what the original series used to be about.
