Fresh start 17467 Report post Posted September 18, 2013 My regular Rmt is on maternity leave and she did wonders on my back. I've seen her replacement and a few others but never the same results. My lower back is tense and full of knots. I get frequent sharp pains during the day and once I'm done work and sit down or lie down for more than 20 min, I get all tense and stiff and can barely move. I've done physiotherapy for a while but stop due cost and the fact it didn't help as much. I've never seen a chiropractor so was wondering if it may help? Also registered or not anybody recommend a good Swedish massage who can give deep pressure and is very good? Please strictly massage.
CristyCurves 169032 Report post Posted September 18, 2013 Hi Empty:) I have herniated discs in my lower back and I tried everything when they first became painful over the years the only thing I've found that's helped me was acupuncture. The back specialist told me every person will find relief in different ways and to try everything until you find someone or something that can bring relief. Its said 80% of the population suffer with back issues. Best advice I can give is keep your abs strong, rest when it is really aching and try chiropractor or different massages, acupuncture and whatever gives you the most relief continue with. Always ask the Dr. or RMT you are visiting who takes over for them when they are on vacation so you are never left without treatment. All the best
muncher459 1040 Report post Posted September 18, 2013 I have had lower back problems due to degenerative disk disease, I find that the best thing I can do is RMT combined physiotherapy if necessary (they use something like a TENS machine). All thought some people swear by chiropractors, I find them too rough for my condition(actually went twice before I decided that this was not for me).

Always ask the Dr. or RMT you are visiting who takes over for them when they are on vacation so you are never left without treatment. All the best Unfortunately her replacement has not helped much. My regular Rmt is amazing, I usually take an hour just on my back then I treat myself with a half hour relaxation on my neck. Omg when she does the neck its mind blowing. She know exactly where all the nerves are and follows them. It's one of the greatest feeling I've ever had, I swear if my neck could have orgasms it would cause my eyes roll back in my head every time. It's so therapeutic in a non sexual way. Additional Comments: I have had lower back problems due to degenerative disk disease, I find that the best thing I can do is RMT combined physiotherapy if necessary (they use something like a TENS machine). All thought some people swear by chiropractors, I find them too rough for my condition(actually went twice before I decided that this was not for me). Yay been to physio and used that machine which helped a bit but I find in not strong enough, then again since I've been electrocuted I find it not as intense, perhaps I built up a tolerance.
