Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted November 5, 2009 I think they need to update the terminology.....I mean really "Bawdy House" .....was the arrest warrant written in olde english too? "In the name of the Queen, it is our said duty as foresworn on our gildens that we vouchsafe to take you to a place in the crown's determination to await her benelovant majesty's justice to inquire upon the circumstances surounding various debacheries of an most unseemly nature said to have occured in this place with your assent and foreknowledge." The lesson here gents is to remember what can happen if you patronize these sorts of places for sex. These are the places that get targeted, and eventually raided. Avoid them. The part about finding "used condoms" didn't sound so appealing either. Play safe!;-)

It would have been. Section 210 of the Criminal Code does call this offense "keeping a common bawdy-house".
PoorGuy 1098 Report post Posted November 5, 2009 What a shame. Now here in Saint John, Blush, the only place for adult entertainment, has removed all the curtains from the lap dance area and has a guy patrolling up and down the hallway at all times. I used to have two regulars whom I enjoyed a wonderful experience with in the booth. Light kisses, lots of licking and sucking breasts and nipples, lots of grinding and wandering hands, etc. It was a wonderful experience without any lewd exposure or penetration. I mean for $20 per dance, she was happy and I was happy. For a blue-collar impoverished town that's what qualifies as entertainment, so I'm not surprised what was going on in Moncton. Although I've never been to Moncton before, I'm sure the girls were charging $100 per blowjob and his take was $40. I know I was solicited for $100 for a blowjob in other establishments in other cities before. At least Halifax has incall escorts and massage parlours where men can discretely seek their pleasures. I don't know, New Brunswick is such a beautiful place to live and the people are the friendliest in Canada. Yah, I guess my language isn't the level of class and sophistication that makes CERB, but hey, I'm a blue collar guy myself. The vast majority of members here are white collar/professionals with a budget large enough for fun and play. I'll make enough money one day to see a real $250+ escort and give a full review with all the details and none of the "I won't go into details/see her for yourself" BS. I was going to post my thoughts in the bad review thread, but I guess it all came out here.

Guest s******ecan**** Report post Posted November 25, 2009 As a resident of Moncton I for one am glad to see the crown devoting so many resources to such an important case. Recent drug murders this past late winter, arsons, a loose serial rapist, a recent bank robbery usually get the "less enlightened" members of the public upset and feeling unsafe and garner the headlines. But surely these are trivial compared to the obvious moral decay that this case represented. Who cares whether this guy is actually guilty, we need an example. Besides all those other cases I mentioned could probably all be traced back to this joint. I'm sure now that it is closed down we can look forward to many happy years of peace, and no crime. That is until the next "bawdy house" rears zombie like from the ground.

PoorGuy 1098 Report post Posted March 25, 2010 Now that I have read the background story, I finally understand why there are no massage parlours or regular incalls in New Brunswick.
drlove 37204 Report post Posted March 25, 2010 George Wayne Manship, the owner of The Gentlemen's Club in NB, also had two locations in the HRM which were subsequently shut down after repeated public complaints. To his credit, he kept it going for as long as possible, but I suspect in the end he tired of fighting the powers that be.
Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted March 25, 2010 George Wayne Manship, the owner of The Gentlemen's Club in NB, also had two locations in the HRM which were subsequently shut down after repeated public complaints. To his credit, he kept it going for as long as possible, but I suspect in the end he tired of fighting the powers that be. Manship pled guilty in April 2007 of running a common bawdy house in Moncton (the Gentleman's Massage Club on St-George, as doc mentioned). He is the one mentioned in the last article who forfeited $500,000 in property (real estate and RV) that was seized by the RCMP. (He also pled guilty in Halifax to living off the avails and received a six-month conditional sentence, Dec 2006. Different case, obviously. Manship apparently had also been convicted of prostitution-related offenses in the 1970s and 1980s in both Moncton and Halifax.)
drlove 37204 Report post Posted March 26, 2010 While forfeiting $500,000 in assets to the crown may seem like a lot, it's probably just a drop in the bucket when you consider his business was in operation since approximately 1977. Most fines for escort agency owners that are busted and subsequently convicted are in the $4000 to $5000 range which amounts to a week's earnings, if that. We could free up a lot of resources and do a lot of good with the money that is spent trying to enforce an outdated religion based view of what is "right" or "wrong".
