What is the future of review forums etc.?

We all know that review forums etc. were created out of necessity and while intended to be a simple and helpful tool for hobbyists they became, in fact, very complex. Speaking generally, there are many issues involved which make them rather puzzling to the inexperienced.

 

In the U.S. some major review forums were exposed to be corrupted administration wise. Some moderators were known to create multiple fake accounts to promote certain girls and extort others. In other forums, which were heavily controlled by some escorts, the issue of lobbying with its associated bullying was quite obvious.

 

I am not aware about the status in Canada in depth, but let's be pragmatic, wherever there is money, then you can logically expect competing forces, lobbying, etc.

 

Are we going to see a future trend of decreased reliance on such sources or the opposite?

Interesting dilemma which you posit Jane. Are the business operators going to falsify matters or will the market dictate?

 

There are many ways for the board owners to raise capital.

 

However, the main questions are:

Will the hobbyists and service providers (all inclusive here) remain connected?

 

Will they find that the board provides an appropriate venue for their needs?

 

I believe that in Canada CERB provides a medium for the fair exchange of information for all to use as they see fit.

Wait a second, I see what you're doing. You're trying to find out if the means through which clients and escorts talk to and about each other in the future will evolve naturally or be a result of intelligent design.

Honestly, I don't know which direction we're headed but I've be lurking around the Internet long enough to have seen popular boards become a ghost town as new ones took over. This format has seemingly worked well (from my narrow point of view) but I'm curious to see how it will hold up.

 

It will be interesting to see how long the multiple boards sustain themselves. While they each seem to have their own distinct reputation or "personality" they seem to be becoming less and less about the industry for which they were started.

Like anything they'll come and go, but a necessity? Not imo, we could do fine without them:) They have their positive aspects and negative. There will always be those out to destroy others, and review forums are the perfect place, so is the internet in general. People love gossip, will listen to it, believe and play into without doing any research, it appears. If a hobbyist tells another," this girl is bad" well ... If posts are made that "she is a star", well... Sadly, too many believe hype, what is written and not enough put more value into finding out for themselves, believing what they see not just what they hear.

I have always felt that this is a very personal, private business and it should be kept between those engaging but that is not what's popular apparently so even I've had to change my way of thinking and follow the rest:( I think they are here to stay and will only multiply, but that's just my opinion:)

Information abhors a vacuum. So, while some specific boards may come and go, I think there will always be an inclination for clients to gather and share local information somewhere on the 'net, and it makes business sense for SPs to interact with clients where they gather.

 

Corrupt practices might appeal to dim-witted board admins, but it's a short-term con that inevitably erodes trust and damages the longer-term investment of the site itself. Given the value of anonymity on both sides in this industry, risking users' trust is an incredibly dumb move. Such places will weed themselves out naturally, and be replaced by somewhere people trust and value.

I agree with you Cristy, that there is people out there trying to hurt others. This can create problems for the victim. People can create situations that benefit themselves by creating the rumors/problems, you name it. Here was what I posted on another thread and I think it is appropriate to repost it here.

 

The thing that "haters" don't understand is the reason why guys are attracted to you and not them. It could be the way you look, your personality, the way you present yourself, the service you provide or a combination of all. Just because "haters" bump someone out of the business or tell rumors to hurt the "victims" business does not mean that they as a person may be getting the clients from the "victim" they bumped out of the business or slandered. The "haters" may be pushing this "victims" clients to other escorts. So now the "Haters" are still not getting more business and the "victim" has to start over and or repair relationships. There are other venues to advertise on. If the escort is a good provider, there's always a chance to rebuild clientele and there's noting that these haters can do. Most of the time after the dust settles clients come back anyways. Slander can slow down an escorts business temporarily but there is no going back for someone who likes to slander to get business, if they get caught. I guess haters can go to every extreme to try to slander someone but I could imagine that this is a lot of work. I myself would not want to put that much energy into hating.

 

 

So my view is be yourself attract the people that are good for you. Let's make love not war. I'm sorry for hijacking the thread a little, I just thought this would be a great side note.
