strider1620 110 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 I thought it might be interesting to start a thread comparing strip clubs region to region, as they vary incredibly... Calgary: No CRs, no private dances, nada... due to local bylaws apparently. The dancer is escorted on and off stage by a bouncer(!!). After her performance, you are invited to toss loonies and toonies into a rolled up poster that she catches the coins in. If you get the most money in, you win... the poster. I learned these sad facts at the French Maid in downtown Calgary two years ago. If the situation in Calgary has improved, please advise (I do travel to Calgary often). Otherwise I will be staying away from the SCs in Calgary. If I want a Budweiser poster I'll go to the damn beer store!! Winnipeg: Sat at a club for an hour, not approached by anyone. Club was dead dead dead (don't remember the name) - maybe 5 customers, maybe 2 dancers. I wouldn't have stayed at all if I hadn't paid for a cab to get there! Do not know if CRs or private dances are available in Winnipeg. Please advise if you know. Toronto: Have not been in a club in Toronto in over 5 years so I really can't say what they are like now. Don't know if they have the same open concept rules in force as in Ottawa. Ottawa: My hometown. About two years ago, new rules came into force making open concept CRs rather than the private booths they used to allow. You can still get a damn fine dance though. Thank your lucky stars you don't live in Calgary! My very favourite club is Barefax, followed by Nuden. I have a very special favourite dancer at the Fax right now but sorry guys, she's my little secret for now. She's a real treasure. Friday Showcase is a particularly good time to be there (lunchtime) but I do hear that this is now common to all clubs in Ottawa. A tip - chat up the dancer you like before Showcase and maybe she'll pick you, otherwise you might end up with anyone. Gatineau: It's too damn inconvenient for me to cross the river, but I've heard it is worth it. Might have to try sometime. Montreal: Strangely enough I have never been to a club in Montreal. My French is too lousy to work in the city so I'm never in Montreal. I've heard the clubs are the best in the world, but that one legendary club on St. Laurent is closing down for a condo development or some damn thing. Moncton: I worked in Moncton for close to six months, and had the marvelous opportunity to spend countless evenings in a nice little club just inside Dieppe. Don't remember the name. Some very nice girls in Moncton, although some were hit and miss. They still have private booths, and most girls were really friendly. Special mention to Katrina who sat with me for almost two hours drinking with me, and then took me for a very memorable dance (not nearly long enough as we drank so much of my dance money!). Unfortunately never saw her again, not that I didn't go looking for her for weeks. God bless you Katrina, wherever you are! St John's: I went pretty early into a club on the main drag of St John's one Friday night. Again, don't remember the name. Lots of girls were there, but none approached me. Stayed for an hour or so. Don't know what the rules are like. Please advise if you know. Still in St John's, I tried a burlesque show the following evening. Big mistake. If you're used to exotic dancers, burlesque girls are definitely not up to the same standard. It was going so-so until a very old, ugly man in drag appeared on stage and sang "cocksuckers for love". Yuck!! The crowd loved him but not me. I fled at intermission. Will not go to a burlesque show again!! Please share your cross country experiences so we can know what to expect when we travel across this great country of ours!
mustard11 242 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 I live in Calgary and used to live in Winnipeg. Let me just say "thank your lucky stars if you enjoy strip clubs and don't live in these cities." I love going to watch the peelers, however I don't even bother going anymore in this conservative, boring town. The dancers in Calgary are very beautiful, but there is nothing more degrading to the women and more boring to watch than a girl slowly slide around the stage with a rolled up poster so men can throw loonies at her. Winnipeg clubs suck too. Most clubs have one girl dance every 30 minutes. The girl dances for three songs then disappears. You can find yourself sitting in a room with a bunch of other guys for 15-20 minutes before the next girl shows up. In both cities the girls are either not allowed or discouraged from mingling with the customers. Which means no need for CRs or private dances. While I have never been, I have heard that the clubs in Edmonton aren't much better and I don't even think Saskatchewan has strip clubs. I am lucky that my work requires me to go to Ottawa every few months. That is when I spend my time at strip clubs. My favorite club is Barbarellas, the girls are beautiful and usually very friendly. I am disappointed with the open concept for the CRs though.

strider1620 110 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 What gives with the West? Honestly, I don't see how the girls can make any real money without private dances. Posted via Mobile Device
pjrd 324 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 What gives with the West? Honestly, I don't see how the girls can make any real money without private dances.Posted via Mobile Device Ya, I won`t even go there anymore. Been to Zanzabar in Toronto couple years back and another one down by St. Catherines ( can`t remember the name). They were great. Women everywhere you look, all the time, on stage, on the tables and in your lap. I brought some money with me for the weekend and spent it all there in a few hours. It was an awesome time and I guess I`m spoiled now that I know what it can be like. I hope the rules haven`t changed too much there cause I`m due for another visit. Don`t know why they don`t do that in the west, must be different bylaws out here. ( I`m only 40 miles from Manitoba and a little over 100 from Winnipeg) PJ
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Excellent regional review of SCs strider. Thanks. I was in Edmonton some years ago and it was just like Calgary. No CRs, no private dances. Dancers being escorted on and off the stage. No fun. I thought that it may have changed by now. I count my blessing that I live in Ottawa:D. If you get the chance, do take a taxi and visit the Gatineau side. You would be very happy. Not only they have CRs but the mileage is much higher across the bridge. In Montreal, they have CRs but dancers don't take off their underwears and if you like kitties as much as I do, that is a turn off. However, dances are half in price, compare to Ottawa-Gatineau. I think the SC that you are referring to (about to close down) is Cleopatra. I have pleasant memories from there. One of the dancers was my GF for a while and I used to go there everyday to pick her up and flirt with her dancer friends too. Hopefully they change their plans. If you really like dancers and want more (than just dancing) visits the bars around Montreal and you will be pleasantly surprised.
rick_falcon 911 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 In Toronto, about 5 years ago, went to Zanzibar (as mentioned above by another member) and OMG, what an experience! But unfortunately, in a not-so-pleasant way... Just to be able to go to the CR for a private dance, you must give $20 to the bouncer. The dance was good but nothing out of this world. All in all, glad I did it but, be sure I won't again. Way too expensive for what you get. Ottawa and Gatineau clubs fare much better.
Guest S****an Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Good thread Strider. Haven't been to TO clubs for a while but have fond memories of Pure Gold in Mississauga and Whiskey-A-GoGos in Vaughan. May be very dated though. I have been to one club in Nova Scotia recently. I think it was called Ralph's Place in Dartmouth(near Halifax). Memorable only in that they had a glassed off booth where patrons and dancers could have a smoke; the glass made for a weird voyeuristic feel that kind of reminded me of a zoo. As I have always found Halifax a fun place, its too bad that they don't have better strip clubs. I guess Halifax boys just have to make do with treasures like Emma Alexandra :)

Honestly, I don't see how the girls can make any real money without private dances.Posted via Mobile Device The french girls are not as shy as the other girls, I mean no disrespect to any other girls as I seen exceptions to the rules. Also the law in Quebec is different then Ontario or the rest of the country for a matter of fact. Now try going to the States that is a totally different story. Most places is no touching and some place there is a gap between the stage and the customer, even for lap dance ( if that is what you want to call it, she does not even sit on your lap ). A good lap dance can still be had for $20 (which is how I generally put my meagre craps winnings to use, such as they are). What you do get is heavy pressure to go back in the "VIP room" where it is generally $100 for 3 songs plus a $40-50 bar bill). The dances are a little bit better in the VIP, but not really worth it in my opinion. That said, I agree that we have it way better in Ontario, and Ottawa/Gatineau is SC heaven IMHO(or at least would be if beer prices were lower). I wholeheartedly agree with you Skidman. Hopefully we can avoid the creeping puritanism of Western Canada - otherwise we will have to start a political lobby group! hunknhot 1067 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Hi Strider: I travel quite a bit as well so here is my take: Alberta: Dear god! stay away from the SCs. Now if you are from Alberta and have never been to a SC anywhere else on the planet then you are fine. But if you have been to a SC anywhere else on the planet... don't bother going to one in Alberta. I went the French Maid. Lasted 21 minutes.. the shock of the experience as described above took days for it to wear off. Had to come back to Montreal to be cured. BC: I'm in Vancouver all the time but the last time I went to a SC was over 10 years ago. Was a close second to Alberta. I was traumatized, had more fun watching the whales humping at the Vancouver Aquarium. The dancers had to be behind a 'fence" to keep teh freaks away from them. Things may have changed since then so I will keep an open mind next time I go there. Sask: Never been to a SC.. nervous to be honest since my Calgary French Maid experience. Manitoba: Forgot the name but went near the Winnipeg airport. Was okay.. maybe a dozen dancers. Can't remeber if there was CR only went in out of curiosity and I had to catch a flight. Will definately stop by next time I am there. Ontario: Well.. hmmmm... lets see.. I have been violated in a good way from Windsor, Niagara, Toronto to Ottawa. They are all open concept CRs but that did not seem to stop anyone from making things work. I never go FS in a club and rarely take extras but they are offered all across ON. I am still exploring Ottawa but my favs in TO are Whisky a go go, Brass Rail (Upper), Cannonball... The Airport Strip is a tourist trap with some of the hottest women in the planet. Prepare to be treated like an ATM by extremely hot women. Atlantic Canada: Been there many time but haven't been to an elusive SC. Maybe Emma or Willow will take me there in Halifax ;) Montreal: We could start a whole new thread on this.. Full Service in the West: Hill Top and Frontiere.. easiest for Ottawa people coming into to town. Frequented by Pornstars and alike. Not fancy but very hot women! West-Island: Source du Sexe and Chez Francis both near the airport. The source just went contact.. probably the last in Montreal to do so. Chez Francis has the private booths.. extras are rare as management keeps a close eye but contact is very close! Closer to Downtown: Les Amazones.. ANy Concordia Student who attended the Loyola Campus must have been a regular lol. Any give night 20+ hotties.. semi private booths.. very clean always up to date..ymmv ! Across the street are well known 'hourly' hotels.. probbaly booked solid by agencies and SP all over Montreal. Most have the rue St-Jacques specials since driver can basically park there and nver leave lol. To my defence I have never seen an SP in Montreal.. my home town. Downtown: Too many to mention but Cleopatra and Kingdom on St-Laurent. I believe Cleo's building is going to be demolished for new Condos.. I doubt they will disappear though.. Very popular club for locals and dancers.. They will find some new real estate. Super Sexe for the tourists.. but very Hot Women. Wandas on Crescent.. locals avoid but tourists love it. There are another 20+ clubs.. I haven't been to most.. I need to sleep as well lol Special mention should go to Solid Gold north of the City. Well run, hot women, great CR and privates. Beautiful dancers. We need a new thread ...
strider1620 110 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 Wow, hunknhot, you make me feel like an SC amateur. Thank you for your most excellent account of the Montreal scene. Glad to have BC mentioned on the thread too. Say, I wonder if anyone knows if private dances were ever available in Calgary. When I was going to high school in Calgary I know for a fact they were not, but after I left Calgary I seem to remember a boyfriend of my sister's bragging about a lap dance he got at a club in Calgary after they broke up. Spooky to think that something so awesome could be taken away so easily... Posted via Mobile Device
Winston 103 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Spearmint Rhino: US parents, treat the club like it is in the US. No touching rule strictly enforced, several lap dance areas available with varying degrees of privacy, dances starting at $20/song. Good food. Low traffic, few dancers because of the low traffic. Great place to take a client. Near YYZ in Etobicoke Low milage Landing Strip: Same ownership as For Your Eyes Only. Tourist trap. Expensive, not much fun from a local POV. Near YYZ in Etobicoke. Mostly low milage Treasures: Generally very attractive women, a number of VIP area's including a stupidly expensive area. Mostly low milage, but in the stupidly expensive area that can quickly change to high milage. Not an inexpensive club. Near YYZ in an industrial area of Mississauga. New Locomotion, Million Dollar Saloon, Cannon Ball, Midway Invader: 4 clubs in Mississauga owned by the same corporate parent. New Loco and Midway are very similar in build and layout. Cannon Ball is seen as the "holy grail" of lap dancing milage. MDS has been raided by Peel Regional Police numerous times for acts of prostitution. The VIP areas tend to be open with tub chairs for the clients, but the area is not viewable from the main floor. Very high milage. Wear protective gear if visiting the bathroom in Cannon Ball. Devil's Playground: varying milage, has a "massage parlor" across the street if you want more milage. Owner was arrested and charged with attempting to bride police, and for gun violations. Suspected to be a "Red and White" club. Not for the tourist. House of Lancaster ( aka HOL I - Queensway) well established club, very private VIP for lap dances. Poor selection of beer (only Labatt's products), girls range from heavy and beyond prime to young and knockout, depending upon the day. Some of the dancers will do only air dances, some will give much higher milage once they are comfortable with the client. Lots of free parking. Small cover charge to get in, no cover for the VIP. House of Lancaster (HOL II - on Bloor) In a less than great section of town, cover charge to get in, cover charge for the VIP. Mostly women that are "winding down" their dancing days, get by with high milage. Not a place to go out of your way to visit. Club Paradise: very close to HOL II on Bloor, but very different club. Nicely decorated, lots of women, some smoking. Some dancers are low milage but cute as hell. Medium milage, rare for "high milage" to happen. Usually worth a pit stop if you are near by. Sometimes a cover to get in, but reasonable. Filmores: in a "seedy" section of town but I have never had any issues getting in or out of the club. Decent women, several VIP to choose from, upstairs VIP has cover charge for each time you visit. Milage depends upon the dancer. Mostly attractive dancers, with some rougher looking girls. Good drink prices before 6 pm. Zanzibar: Tourist trap on Yonge Street. I've not be in for a couple of years. Brass Rail: On Yonge south of Bloor. Acknowledged as having the prettiest dancers in Toronto. Bar is very aggressive on making sure you are drinking. Is usually low milage, but if you spend enough $$ who knows what the lady may decide. For Your Eyes Only: downtown, expensive, frequented by pro sports teams and people with some serious expense accounts. Milage tends to be low in the club, but if you have enough $$, takeout is available. Jilly's: Queen Street East @ Broadview. Best to avoid.
